Great win by the mighty cutters today!!! Put on a clinic against a hopeless city lions team. Heard a few rumours today that Lions are falling apart. Spoke to a injured player who features strongly in there A grade side.
Good too see the young hawks get up as well and one ay traffic for saints.

Where do i start? Your club is in that much debt that it can't pay its players and until your president pulls his finger out. Club admits they are in debt but yet still pay $2000 for Steve Doran from Hawks. Trying to buy a premiership wont win you a premiership

Well I guess the Cairns City Lions know where they're sitting at after the weekends drubbing at Fretwell. The game at Cazalys wasn't pretty, some Centrals players must have been proud of themselves after spear tackling 17yr olds. And yes I know, if they can't take it they shouldn't be there. But what happens when we have another Alex McKinnon (Newcastle Knights)??? I also heard that Saints weren't that impressive at Griffiths either.
 
Saints didnt play their best but the way Norths played it was never going to be pretty. Playing 3 or 4 loose back all day made scoring hard for Saints with alot of long range efforts. Norths were never going to kick more than 4 or 5 goals and that doesnt win you many games. Another balls up in the paper saying Smith from Cutters didnt kick any goals against Saints. They were right only cause he didnt play that day if I recall. Souths are the ones to catch thats for sure and Brennan should finish 4th with maybe Hawks making a late run
 
I know they're easy to criticise & people aren't willing to do it because of abuse & comps everywhere need them but geez the umpiring both ways at Cazalys again on Saturday was frustrating, laughable & embarrassing at best. Something needs to be done urgently.

Sad to say the city's of old reared its ugly head again on the weekend in the ressies (only). One fellow was intent from the start to only throw punches, got yellow carded early that should have been a red had the umpire had a pair of you know what. Few others got sucked in / along as the game went on. Disappointed as i know how hard they are working to get the club back on track. Goes to show it only take a few to undo much hard work.

Umpire bashing has featured strongly on here for sometime and unfortunately they can't get anyone. I have watched umpires training on ocassion and I'm definitely no expert but it looks a little amateurish to me. I went to the U15 Schools Championships and the umpiring was far and above the standard in Cairns. I think it's time that AFL Cairns get serious and shell some money out and get someone who is going to get in there and turn it around. Perhaps they could drop the wages of the senior people to help pay for a decent umpire manager. In saying that, I thought the umpiring in the U15's Hawks V Pyramid game at Cazaly's on Sunday was good.

Yeah well I was I was going to compliment South Cairns, as I have done throughout the year, but thought the well balanced (chip on both shoulders) Cutters snipers such as TB would probably take that the wrong way and get their knickers in a twist again :) As for Hawks making the 4, they have to beat us yet & we have flogged them twice so far this season. I think perhaps this weekends game Lions Vs Norths will decide 4th place.

Brennan has only played in 3 games. We have won all three, two against Hawks & one against Centrals. He was clearly best afield in his 3rd game but was serviceable without being outstanding in the first two. Im confident we would have won all those games without him but its true a player of his class & ability certainly lifts the team. We beat Tigers comfortably without him & Micky Paul who is one of leagues better players. How's Saints win loss ratio with or without Walsh?
 
Nobody is talking Saints up like you have been Lions all season. Just saying that without him you will struggle. Saints have struggled without Walsh but not too much since they have played in 7 grand finals in a row with hiim missing most of a season a couple of times.

CCL excuse my cynicism but it's funny how Cities only bring Brennan up for a game against Hawks and Centrals. I would have thought that they would want their best team on the park against whoever they faced.

I'm the a cutters man but I couldn't agree with you more Lachrilly. Saints are still the yardstick of the comp. CCL you shouldn't even be comparing saints without Walsh to you Your joke club without Brennan. What everyone is thinking is why wouldn't you be bringing him up to play against the saints, cutters and crocs? Instead of just trying to scrape into the finals and make up the numbers why not try and challenge the top teams. Cause after the performance Lions produced last weekend, I wouldn't getting to excited about making finals.
