Will Ainslie put time into Robb?

I think it would be ridiculous to give him the time and space Woden did. He kicks 4 in the opening quarter and the game is virtually over for them.

Fair to say it is a battle of structures, Griffins want you to commit numbers into your defensive half, they sit back and want you to kick it straight back to them.

Fair to say Jono Dean was shown no respect either, absolutely no one on him for the best part of three quarters, while he played that quarterback style role.

But there are other players, the Griffins are a quality side and on their home deck must be paid respect, especially as it looks like it will be an absolute bog.

Looks like a big weekend of finals coming up!

Predictions?

Mine follows:

3s

Molonglo over Woden by 20
Ainslie over Anu by 6

Molonglo too strong, Woden played well last weekend though. Ainslie over Anu just, defence is strong could prove the difference I think.

4s

Yass over ADFA by 30
Anu over Ainslie 10

Yass been a strong force all year. 3 weeks since a game though? If they start well, they should win this comfortably. Anu/Ainslie a cracker, but I think defensive pressure again might tell the tale.

Can't wait to see how all pan out, good luck to all sides.

By all reports South was in great nick last week for training. I think you're a bit rough saying it's the worst deck in Canberra...From what I've seen it stacks up well against any of the other grounds in the comp.

Perhaps harsh, but when we played on it earlier this year it was a bog haha, perhaps my memories of the oval are clouded because it's never been dry when I have been there.

From looking at Gungahlin Enclosed last week it probably takes the cake for the worst deck, going to take months to fix.

Gotta say, for a lot of money spent on the ground early days and I must say it is the best looking ground in Canberra beside Manuka.. 'The Nest' has been a let down for Belconnen but also the league in how it's played. Like I said one of the best looking grounds in Canberra but the oval itself is a mud pile.. And I've heard they aren't allowed on it until December/January now with Belconnen moving all games and training elsewhere!

If memory serves Belconnen paid for the shed and the surrounding infrastructure and the oval upgrade was funded and managed by ACT Government. Considering the $$ the government put in the outcome is really poor.
Too true Maggy!! wonder if there is any contractor recourse . Although I suppose its a good thing they simply didn't spray it green like another Canberra oval in the Carnell days.

I'm thinking that ANU make the Granny in both grades .As for opposition Molonglo in the 3rds and Yass in the 4.s Thinking Yass will have a lot more to play for in this game now.

Did anything come out of the racial comments that came from the Ainslie box on Saturday during the doc 3 game? I didn't hear it myself but from all reports it was pretty ordinary. It wasn't from any of the Ainslie coaching staff...I think a few players not involved in the match may have been on the drink and got carried away...regardless given what was said some education is required. Not a ping at Ainsle at all BTW...just no room for that rot around our game.

No charge for the prelim at South...the rich get richer!!! Afl Canberra don't require gate for matches other than the GF. Ainslie cash grab. Well done flogs.

Glad you found the $5 to get in, though seems it is quite difficult to take anything you say seriously.

I'm unaware of any such comments, and have heard nothing about it. If you'd like to send through a message to discuss further, please do.

There was no such racial comment

Making allegations without any proof of anything that was said is quite damaging to reputation, especially if there is no factual basis behind what was said.

I understand there was an inappropriate comment made but it was not racist, was nipped in the bud by myself after the game.

Racism has no place in the game.

Can't believe people are complaining about paying to get into games. Support your local footy club and just pay it. Little things like add up and mean a lot to even the big clubs. It all goes around in a cycle and you're supporting the community sport. Plus at the end of the day, you are paying to watch the best teams/players in Canberra compete no matter what the standard is. Happy for others to disagree, but it's not like you are supporting a bad cause here.
