AFL Culture needs to grow up re: players waiting till end-of-season to reveal that they are planning to move out

Blakey fell under the same rules, he chose to not go to North. It's nobody's fault North weren't appealing enough to him.

Kelly didn't qualify and 80% of North fans born after 1982 wouldn't have even known Phil Kelly existed if Josh wasn't a gun. Change 1982 to 1992 for Mark Brayshaw and the point remains the same.

Laughable you're trying to draw a bow between Kelly/Brayshaw and 200+ games players in Daicos/Ashcroft/Darcy.
Seems arbitrary to me that the romance should only apply to certain father sons and not others, that’s all.

It does though. We have a romance with the Daicos boys. The Brown boys and Will Kelly was less romantic
Yeah I get it. You’d imagine the Brown and Kelly kids would have had some of the Daicos level of admiration if they were better footballers though - it seems the more talented they are, the easier it is to romanticise and strengthen the link the offspring have to the club

I always felt that deliberate ambiguity in spite of what is evident is in the best interest of all parties. Allows for a lot of flexibility should the unexpected happen

It created a farce though when everyone knows a player is moving clubs and we have to endure "Put off contract talks",Ill sit down with my manager and the end of the season and decide whats best for my family". The suspense when Bailey Smith announced he wanted to go to Geelong was on par with Home And Away
So if you are happy that you think you know who is leaving, and that's without getting them to have to announce it prior, what are you losing out by the current situation?

Let's not forget that a certain number of rumours of players moving is the manager driving up their players price.

What if a Tigers player announces he is moving to St Kilda next year, then a few weeks later they both meet in a preliminary final. They player then puts in his worst game ever, and the Tigers lose, sending St Kilda to the GF. Imagine the strife that would cause. It just opens up so many holes we don't need opened.

F/S generally is considered good by a clubs supporters when their team has a lot of potential f/s
F/S is seem as unfair/out of date by a clubs supporters when their team has little to no potential f/s

Remember it is not compulsory for a kid to agree to f/s recruiting

Feels like youre trying to defend your bias instead of considering the merits of people's arguments. Fact is, no other professional sport has this farce of a system.

No kid has to agree, but they can choose to not move away from home because daddy played for the club around the corner.

It would be fine if the rules were universal across all states and teams but they were/are not. Freo had to put up with McGovern's and Allan's playing for other teams. Fans will get over it.
McGovern was picked as a rookie . You could have taken him multiple times in his draft year .

As relevant as your comment regarding Blakley & you are sooking right now.
Wtf is wrong with you, you utter numpty?

You're crying about McGovern(Mitch) not being available to your club as FS and I said you could've picked him over Connor Blakely.

Chesser/Johnson has literally zero to do with the previous discussion but you decided to have a melt over it instead.

Grow up.
