AFL DRAFT Prospect Majak Daw

6th round plus pick, or rookie. We've already got the most athletic tall in the competition, and he hasn't got a game yet.

yeah and that has translated to above average strike rates in win/loss ratios...maybe, just maybe we need to start getting that strike rate up when it comes to mid order picks....taking a wild out of left field guess...this has been one of the biggest problems over the last decade at least..do i reel them off for you?..naaa you know the deal ;)

i'm not saying we should take him with a mid-order pick...by the 5th round, there will probably only be a handful of teams still picking...if he's there, we just get the jump on anyone that was thinking about rookieing him...low risk, high potential reward

How tall is he?

193cm, 84kg.

So not a ruckman past U/18s, could only become a forward.

To put it further into perspective he averages about 4 kicks (at ~30% efficiency), 4 handballs (~80% efficiency) and despite the impressive marking in the highlight reel, averages about 2 marks a game of which less than 1 are contested.

Kicked one goal in his first ten games this year and then kicked 5 in a match a couple of weeks ago, and then kicked 1 and 2 respectively since.

Obviously we don't know what game time he gets but regardless those stats are not that impressive.

Just remember we could probably cut together a pretty impressive highlight reel of JON if we had to, so I wouldn't be basing a decision on that.

just looking at his height i have changed my mind. i thought he might of atleast been 198cm as he looked so lanky. but there would be no way he could compete with afl ruckmen unless he puts on atleast 15 kg, 10 being minimum. but then he will lose all his speed, and wont take crash packs and take those contested marks.

People lets not jump the gun now.
I know a number of people who go to scholl with him. There comments are that he is o-r-d-i-n-a-r-y!
Yes it would be a feel good story, but as mentioned a number of time ROOKIE at best!.

IMHO - I think we can do better!

A bit like gourdis hey?
Gourdis has a bit more ability then Daw does.
He actually knows how to play the game and wouldn't average 8 possessions a game at a low efficiency rate in the TAC cup.
After seeing his raw stats, he gets a big pass from me, lets start getting blokes in who really know hoe to play the game;)

Regardless, his tackling was very impressive especially when runnning down blokes.
For someone who is still a juvenile at the game he is very impreesive.
Would only be worth a rookie spot.

Still better than Graham/Browne/Patto stats. Has a lot a similarities to Natanui who doesn't rack up the numbers either. Looks like he can jump, keeps his feet, attacks the ball with instinct and seems to like working out in the gym which is more than can be said for most of our current players.

Okay kids all I saw him do was get a few tapouts...most of which not to advantage...play on from taking a mark...lay a tackle...take a mark on the goal-line.

Sorry but if that impresses you then you could draft me...or in fact 99.9% of this board no doubt. This kid would be lucky to get a rookie spot at any club.

Actually there was this one time that someone said I couldn't land a footy in a wheelie bin, so I took a shot at it, landed in..rocked a little and the bin lid shut on it...gladly the whole entire moment caught on camera.

Cutting a long story short I'm so scared to post it on Youtube because I could wake up and find a whole half dozen threads on this board saying , "Wheelie Bin Maestro Would Look Good In Our Forward Line", "Pick 3 For Wheelie Bin Kid?"

"Wheelie Bin Kid AFL DRAFT Prospect....Probably taken at No. 2......but Wheelie Bin Still Available at 3"

Seriously, just because you can post a thread about some hack that isn't worth it, doesn't mean you should.

lol after reading most of these coments from people who have barely seen him play calling him a hack and so on, i can see that there are a lot of jealous and ignorant people who have posted on this thread.

i have played with majak for 4 years and have shared success with him and because of him.

Maj brings x-factor to a team and a whole lot more potential than you give him credit for.

he is also apealing to a afl club due to his marketability and great genes that help his physical attributes imensly.

so you can stop your whining and just understand that majak is at north melbourne already and is an AFL player and you arent.

Sorry we speak what we see. A raw athletic player overrated by a set of highlights when the reality is he barely marks and can't kick a footy.

Take off the rose-tinted glasses, cotchin#9. He has potential, I'll give him that, but he has miles to go to be anywhere near an AFL player.

He's also not a North player yet. He's just a player in contention to be drafted as a rookie.
