Heard someone say weeks ago that if you get an offer (almost) too good to be true early, you take it as clubs may get scared off on handshake agreements on draft night if players are still on the board.
That offer was not too good to be true. It was alright and could backfire on us if next years draft is lacklustre.

Zero chance a team doesn’t offer a future first for that pick if Kako did get bid on. We played it safe for a few late round picks. Could have had two first round talents in a great draft.

Kako was always coming to us so why chance losing our first pick + getting Kako whilst obtaining a bunch of picks in the middle of the draft we likely move up in the order anyways?

As I said earlier, maybe we got frightened off but the bigger picture isn't as bleak as some are looking at

Guarantee Saints turned down norths F1 for Tauru

And that has to be considered a pick 3

Veruca Salt syndrome.

Also, we wouldn't have gotten the haul we did on draft night.

Or we just played the safe / smart option and now we have a few picks late 30's early 40's and the fact is what made the previous top drafts what they where was the players further into the draft and not just the top 20. :)

its a deep draft. Having lots of picks in the middle parts of the draft should be exciting for the Bombers faithful
