All over for this year!

Check out our new picks from the draft:
Pick #13 (matched): Isaac Kako - Small Forward, Calder Cannons
Pick #37: Kayle Gerreyn - Ruck/Forward, West Perth
Pick #39: Angus Clarke - Defender, Glenelg
Pick #61: Rhys Unwin - Small Forward, Greater Western Victoria
Pick #70: Zak Johnson - Midfielder, Northern Knights
Pick #6 RD: Archer Day-Lewis - Forward, Bendigo Pioneers
Cat B Rookie: Jayden Nguyen - Defender, Calder Cannons

We have a couple more picks right at the end (trade one out, but list spot is still open so our next pick after the last round becomes available).

Might pass on them though, I think we have the list minimum now? Is anyone counting?
Aren’t you the one who counts?

Mick Ablett….it can’t be said enough how silly this bloke is.

I’m sure Lennox Hoffmanns parents are thrilled to hear their son will be mentored by Tyson Stengle…..

Going to milk one more year of blaming Jackets for any dud picks (this year) - heard his old draftee notes were shuffled around the EFC draft desk tonight along with all the all the other inputs… total free hit for Rosa.

Not enough mid sized half back/forward flankers that we think will become big bodied midfielders.

wouldn’t be shocked to see Goldy get cut if we need a list spot. 2MP/Bryan are very capable VFL rucks/R2/3

I don’t even think we could do that if we wanted to.

Provided everyone stays fit and there is no LTI’s Goldy will 100% pull the pin mid year to get us a MSD pick.

So you are saying that pick 10 is way better than for arguments sake pick 15(the worst performed pick) next year plus the two second round picks this year ?

People can make their own minds up.

As it is pick 15 averages 14 games less but pick 19 averages the same and oddly pick 37 just under.
If you look at the best draft hauls by clubs it is often off the back of a spread of picks in the top 40. A few hit gold with two stars in the top 5 but we are not talking about that. We are talking pick 9-13 range.
This is my thing. Top 40 picks over a few years is what has been the best result. Would have been good either way IMO but I do not see it as a weaker position.
This is a weird post, as this isn't what I said. I am saying that Melbourne's first next year was a risky trade (and I wouldn't have done it). It's written again in the post you quoted. I have no interest in continuing a discussion where someone says "you said this" then goes on to cherry-pick points to argue against it.

Welcome to the offseason I guess.

Some reasonable players still on the board;

Archer Day-Wicks, Floyd Burmeister, Charlie West, Waylon Davey-Motlop (that hit on Damon Hollow may be coming back to hurt him), Kade Herbert, Damon Hollow, Bailey McKenzie, Pat Retchko, Nathan Sulzberger, Sam Toner

Jayden Nguyễn slips through to (potentially) being a Category B rookie

Rookie draft from 12pm I believe on Friday
