what are peoples thoughts on scott burns? on previous form as a midfielder he would be worthwhile but there is a reasonable chance he could line up in back pocket or forward?

Colby is too injury prone mate and I can't afford to take that risk with the team I have. I don't know if you remember but last year there was talk that he might not play this year as his body would not hold up. I don't expect him to play a full season, and they will give more time to Perry, Perkins, etc to groom them as Colby's replacement.

Yeah well I gambled on him anyway, he seemed to be doing alright in his pre season matches, and can always be traded off if he gets an injury. I still think they will play him the same as last year.

What's everyone's opinion of Farren Ray - doggies? He looks Ok for $126k and might have a bigger role to play this year.

If I keep C Sylvia as a starting FWD, I could dump Ray and spend $218k on someone else?

Any ideas?

He's only played against the Eagles mate... and even that wasn't a full game.
As has already been mentioned, there are better options for similar money.

16.Nick Riewoldt
17.Warren Tredrea

Nigel Lappin : ankle, has not played yet, barely trained. If he plays round 1 he will certainly not be fit. There is talk that his injury is taking longer to heal than anticipated and he might not play until the second month.
Steve Johnson : also an ankle injury. apparently not expected back before round 3
Beau McDonald : allegedly injured his recovering knee again and required another op. Don't expect to see him until the second half of the season.

i need to pick my last cheap forwards:
Which two would you pick outta

Lance Franklin
Travis Cloke
Nathan Ablett
Paul Johnson (Melbourne One)
If we are talking about the likelihood of who will play in round 1, then Franklin is the obvious choice.
Ablett would be my second choice. He probably won't play round 1, but if he keeps up the form that he has been showing so far in the pre-season, then it will only be a matter of time before he forces his way into the 22.

and while i'd love to show my team,i'm going to keep it in house for the moment.. this is my first year, but still i think my team is going to take some beating ;)
Also i'd love to know, whats everyones opinions on injury prone players? I've deliberately left hird, bucks, bell, and others who i might have chosen otherwise on price/ability out, simply because they are a liablity to my score if they get injured in a game, i mean i could trade them out, but i just dont see it to be worth it. If 2 players get injured in a round, thats 2 of your 20 trades gone, much better to save your trades for out of form players, or those who by round 3 you can see arent emulating last years feats which earn them their price.

I went with Luke Hodge, purely on potential. Hoping he might fulfill it this year.

Forwards

Fiora $164,500
Mark Stevens $156,100 (Had first full pre-season for years, looks good)
Adam Schnieder $155,600
Jarrad Waite $152,100
John Barker $136,900
Chris Ladhams $126,600

All reasonable pick ups.

Stevens : injured his ankle last weekend and is no certain starter for round 1. with his history of leg injuries, you have to have doubts.
Waite : Did not play for Carlton last week as I believe he is currently injured. Again, doubts about a) whether he will be fit for round 1 and b) if he can break into the starting 22 of the pre-season premiers
Barker : sustained an injury during the Hawks 2nd game of the pre-season. Not sure if he'll be right for round 1, but again with all this guy has been through, you'd have to question his fitness to a) get on the park and b) stay there
Ladhams : not in the Crows best 22. Will struggle for many senior games this year I believe.

So that leaves either Fiora or Schneider. The question is do you believe all the hype about Fiora ? Will he sustain his good pre-season form and revel in his new lease of life at the Saints ? Time will tell, but no guarantees.
Schneider looks good. Has had a great pre-season and I expect him to be given alot more time in the midfield this season. Knows where the goals are too and has good accuracy.

Bell injury prone ? You must be talking about the Daniel variety because Peter has missed only 1 game last year and would not have missed many more in years gone by.

I'd hate to see who else you've left out based on your "injury prone" KPI. It's probably a good idea that you do keep your team "in house"

yeah well not quite injury prone but still, his bout of OP last season really hurt us and thats the position i'm coming from... he's a great player dont get me wrong, and a great leader, however last year his OP made him less effective than usual, and i'm not willing to risk a re-occurrence of that.. fingers crossed and double crossed that it doesnt happen however, as i think he is the key to the dockers playing finals footy ;)
