Has anyone else noticed how quiet this board is starting to get now that most people have less than 8 trades left and good, similar teams?

We're not even half way through and i'm wondering what we're going to be talking about for the rest of the year....

At the moment I can only see the same sort of questions and answers coming up again and again. Feel free to add any other i haven't thought of.


Q: Who should i choose as captain this week!?!?
A: Jimmy Bartel, or if you dont have him, your midfielder with the highest average.

Q: How does my team look?
A1: Wow, very similar to mine, cool midfield! What's your ranking?
A2: You know it's awesome, why post it?
Response to A2: I just want to get some other opinions (i.e. the egg)

Q: omg omg omg, Jono Brown (or someone else) did his knee and is out for the season, who do i trade for???
A: Who has the highest average of the players in the price range? Pick who ever is coming back into form...its sooo easy

Q: sh*t, Sandilands has a calf strain and will miss a week...i dont have any bench players in my ruck what do i do?
A: Nothing, serves you right for not having a decent bench player...that was the risk you took

Post: god damn, Bruce = 85 point at half time!!!!
Response: No one cares, watch the footy instead of your computer. No one read's through the 100 pages of crap thats posted on the weekend

LH15: Another scalp for LH15! You suck theone5, and i'm an arrogant pr*ck

A: ........ :/

Q: Will Chappy play this weekend?!?!?
A: Well he's named on the extended bench...so maybe. Put him in your team and make sure you have an emergency selected.



So before you start typing, read this, i've already answered 80-90% of the questions/posts. Now we can start talking about next year hahaha

Does anyone know if leuenberger will play this yr, i've had him since rd 1 and need a ruckman on the bench that plays

as long as brisbane stays in finals contention, i doubt it....
but if they lose the next few games, maybe he might get a game after the mid-year break....
charman and mcdonald both played their best footy at the start of the decade and seem past their best (particularly mcdonald)....
i would say cameron wood would get the next call-up anyway....

After cashing in Hudson i am now left with having to start either Griffin or Darcy in the ruck along with Sandi. With Darcy under pressure to even get a game and griffin under an injury cloud (and both of them scoring terribly) i think it may be time to upgrade Darcy however i can't afford a true premium ruck ie Cox, White or Frasier. Which leaves me with Lade or Mcintosh as the obvious options, i'm leaning towards Lade as while his form has not been outstanding and his score seems to be effected when Brogan plays he is a class player and may be more consistent in the last half of the season than Mcintosh. Any one have any thoughts?

i would have kept hudson and got rid of darcy....
his price is still rising and darcy is going the way of tredrea - past his best due to injury and age, and is playing less in the ruck

The same people that are bagging LH15 now as being "arrogant" are the same people (give or take) that were filling his inbox and pestering him about getting help earlier in the season.

I just think that LH15 doesnt know as much as everyone makes out, Nebula is a much beter DT'r yet nobody mentions him. I even rate theone5 over LH15 in terms of DT smarts.

you can't be serious? West is one of the most popular mids. In fact, he is more popular than all others except Judd and Gibbs. There is no shortage of Westyy fanboys.

Josh Gibson out for the season for the roos just in case there is someone crazy who has him.

much improved and looked to be a permanent fixture in our back 6. our back 6 is shocking atm.

agreed - all people in the top 5000 (or 1000 but thereabouts) should have the same amount of knowledge. some of the knowledge the newbies throw around i take heed of purely because dreamteam operates in a way that it entices you and builds your knowledge up quickly. from my experience my interest dt has waned a little - i used to be hellbent on dt and knew everything that was going on.

At the start of the season i was predicting that the big forwrds or big talls for that matter would score higher with the new "hand in the back" ruling...
Not so!

Good point rumour i was thinking the same thing but people like fev and hall aren't dominating in the DT as we expected.

Cross scores well despite how his team plays or whether they win or lose and has been really consistant....unlike West which is why i'd rule him out.

On the other hand...a lot of people are jumping on Cross so you might want to pick up Scotland, who is just as good to make your team a bit more unique to give you a calcualted edge.

So Juddah, you think Scotland will score higher than Cross???
Last year Scoland finished 2nd overall, but last yar Stevensd was playing.

Everyone is saying Murphy cops the number one tagger, but wouldn't Scotland??
Definitely agree with the fact Scotland would give me an edge as not many have him. No one in my leagure in fact. But 2 people in my league have Cross, is leaning towards him a little.

Either way, want the player who's going to score more.

So that still gonna be Scotland u think???
Scotland definitley kicks heaps more than Cross, hence should score more.
But that hasn't been the case lately...

Actually, thats what we can discuss!

Players that make your team unique

Requirements:
- Selections < 15,000 (even 10,000??)
- Average > 80 (more for mids)
- Potential to score much higher

These are the sort of players that people should be trying to get. Unless you're in the top 10 already, you won't win the comp unless you have a few unique players

Some i can think of, "Name (selections)":

Backs = Sinclair (12,300), Milburn (13,600), Guerra (4,500)

Mids = Scotland (10,500), Swan (13,100), Stanton (7,500), Troy Selwood (7,500), Chad Fletcher (2,300), Simpson (3,600), Joel Corey (4,800), Scott Thompson (7,100), Burns (2,400), Montagna (2,400), Brad Green (1,300), JMac (6,000) <---but dont get him, he's mine!

Rucks = none!

Fwds = Embley (9,300), Hird (14,400), Steve Johnson (10,200), Chappy (15,500...well almost under 15k but worth it IMO), Ricciuto (2,400 with his first game a 75).

No suprise most of the choice is in the midfield. Have i forgotten anyone (apart from tarrant who i left off intentionally!)? Who is the best pick of these?

Personally, i want to trade out Gilbee (56,000ish) at some point and pick up Milburn. I have Embley on the bench and i got JMac in last week. I have Pendlebury (8,200) as well but i dont see him improving a whole lot more so i'll upgrade him soon

I have Corey and Green in my midfield, they are scoring pretty well and makes it more unique.

Had him in my midfield since round 3 or 4 and has been solid.

See in my opinion any player that has over 10,000 can not be considered unique. Any player less than 5000 is great and less than 3000 fantastic, as long as they are scoring well.
