I think Im acutally going to bench Heater this week. I just dont see him scoring well. Actually I dont see him scoring full stop. With Rhyce Shaw out, Heater is there only real pacy player who can take the ball out of the backline, and we will definately be playing someone close to him. With Osborne out, I would imagine Stokes would get the job, and he was fantastic last week at applying pressure (8 tackles from memory).

Ive got a choice between Heater, Lonergan and Urquhart for the last two spots. Its pretty much a DT sin to not play your best 22, but this is a risk that might pay off. Im confident the other two will get me 55+, I have no idea with Heater though...

i would stronly advise against that.

Heath is playing against Hawthorn, who play a zone defence. i think this creates chip-chip-chip around the backline because Hawks will put less pressure on the ball-carrier. as players are protecting zones, Collingwood will find it hard to navigate through the cluster, ultimately creating chipball in the backline to maintain possession. remember Bock 35pos, 15marks!!
also, i have noticed night gamea at the MCG are producing big numbers. think back to Priddis and Kerr 40+ disposals, Geelong 400+ disposals last week.
also, their no.1 defensive-half-forwards player (Osbourne) is out. who will tag Heater, if they choose to do so?

Mids will always rack up huge possies against us, due to the lack of a dedicated tagger. Sewell is a good tagger, but he is more damaging as an attacking mid (much the same as Boyd). Geelong rack up possies regardless of who they play.

I can see your reasoning (the zone), but I honestly think that Clarko will just sit someone on Heater. With Ozzie out the role will go to Stokes. Alternatively, Campbell Brown could be played up forward again (he needs more practice up forward if he is going to play there come finals), in which case Heater will get obliterated.

Truth be told, Ill probably just put him back on the field. Im just sending out a stern warning that im not happy with Shaw at the moment... :D

I've got a feeling Heater is due for a big game tonight, along with the Pies. This is the sort of game that gets Collingwood up and about.

Leaving Heater on the bench is a huge risk at this stage of the season. Maybe, it would be worth a risk in the last two rounds if you have a chance at catching the leader.

If Heater goes big this week and everyone else has him then your chances are shot!! If Heater has his usual downer then everyone has him and you are still close enough to the top to still have a chance. Probably wait until Round 21-22 for that gamble.

Trades and $$$?

So I've narrowed my options down to the following.

Mids: Armfield or Browne to cover Ablett (one to play this week)
Backs: Josh Head and Selwood to cover any defender injuries

or

Mids: Dalziell or Browne/Armfield to cover Ablett (Dalziell to play this week)
Backs: Scott D Thompson and Selwood to cover any defender injuries.

Can't decide if I should get an extra back emg, or go with the better mid emergency in Dalziell.

Thoughts? Cheers in advance!

Also, going Richo over Riewoldt.

1 trade left, which is of the greater concern?

having lachy hansen/harry taylor/david myers as my 7th back.

or no playing emergency in my rucks for cox and simmo.

should i use my final trade to address one of the above or hang tight?

Ok here's where it's at fellas:

Have Joncock, Purgs and Edwards in the backline - so facing one zero at best.

Nowhere near the Aurion and Top four place sewn up in both leagues.

2 trades left + 115k

I've decided if I trade it will be Purgs who goes.

Should I trade Purgs -> Bowden, Fisher or Mackie

or cop a zero and wait for the picture to hopefully become clearer with Stiffy and Purger?

It depends on what your ressies are like. If someone goes down in your mids or forwards, can you cover them? If yes, trade Burger out. There is no telling when he will be back in the side, and if he will even score well. Id trade for Fisher personally. Has been on fire of late - Bowden's role is always up in the air, and sometime Mackie defers to Milburn. With Goddard potentially spending more time in the midfield, Fisher is the Saints main link up man. :thumbsu:

I have no bluddy idea this week.

Need cover for Chappy, Tippett/Neagle out.
Playing all 3 of Cotchin/Wellie/Armfield is gunna hurt.

So I might as well burn my last 2 trades.

Tippett>Valentti, should be decent cover for Chappy and anyone else that decides to slum it.

Goodes>Kane, playing armfield gives me the shudders.
leaving me with a nice $300 to splurge on a big party

If anybody has more guts than me and nothing much to lose, consider making Goddard captain. ;)

Probably Dalziell - has the best form out of those three.

what about daziell / cotchin / valenti ?

having real trouble. cotchin has been starting but bad game last week and playing geelong this week with only awesome game being when they thrashed west coast - not gonna happen this week.
valenti and daziell both flying.
im leaning towards dalziell as both games hes got 5 tackles so safer points

Judd, Priddis or Stevens.

as a non-Stevens owner myself... STEVENS

if there's 1 player i hate seeing get the footy this year, it's him.

"oh-no, not Stevens! get out of it Stevens!"

if you'r looking for a bargain mid, have you considered any of the following:
- Murphy 341k
- Goodwin 342k
- Carrazzo 347k
- Hayes 344k
- Mitchell 337k

Was thinking:

Chapman>O'keefe

and then

Salopek>Swan

Is this a good idea?

Is this a better option than trading Chapman to someone like NG Brown or Steve Johnson and Salopek to someone such as Carazzo or Sam Mitchell?
O'Keefes form wasnt too flash before the last 2 games but if you want him, its your last chance to do so. He has a negative BE so his price will skyrocket. IMO, the Swan + O'Keefe combo is better then a Carrazzo/Mitchell + SJ/NGBrown combo. Its gives you a solid captain choice in Swan and a usually consistent forward which are hard to come by

Anyone got an update on Goodes injury? I have heard 1 2 possibly 3 or more weeks out. So what is it? Cheers.

I'll second that. Would love to have a better idea on how long Goodes & Chapman will miss. Have them both & as i will finish top 4 in league with double chance happy to carry them for 2 weeks but not if 3 or more. Please help if you have any reliable info...:):):)
