if your cool with [Embley] scoring 90 one week and 20 the next then he's your man :thumbsu:
Spot on.

...and if you have any other uncertaintys that are starting continue to take away i used stevens and simmonds as examples because there the most likely to be lock ins for sides.
hope it helps
i mean certaintys **
No, you mean certainties. If you're going to correct yourself, at least do it properly.

Time to put the first two posters in my ignore list.
:thumbsu: Hear, hear

I came 57th last year and I'm only 4 years old.Anyone impressed?
I think it only impresses other 4 year olds.

Apologies to the person that actually came 57th last year if they happen to post here.

Ok serious now.

Currently I have no "elite" midfielders in my team. Looking at my current list, the only one I would feel "confident" in making captain is Dean Cox.

Is this a potential weakness given that most peoples captain would be a midfielder?

To put it another way, who among you is of the opinion that you need to have at least one "elite" midfielder in your team despite the seemingly endless list of underpriced midfielders going around this year?

cale morton is not ready for the big time yet and needs to further develop he just turned 18 and is skinny as maybe jarryd is the choice you want from hawks hes a real good talent

his light frame wont take much into account and he has probably put on a good 5kg already, meaning he will probably weigh 84 which isnt overly light. he has one of hte most impressive kicks on him i can remember seeing and could play on the outside as the linkman
but u r right he is quite small but i wouldnt totally right him off yet

Depends what your aim for the season is. If you are looking at overall ranking, you definately need that elite mid(s). If you want a league win, you can afford to start with those cheaper options as they will be elite come rounds 19-22

What if I want both...?

:D

I mean, surely if you're going for the overall win you're going to cream most people in your league anyway... right?

If you want both make two teams.

The aim of a league win is to be performing at the end of the season and have trades in hand.

For overall ranking, you have to perform for 22 rounds, therefore you need guns in your team ASAP, therefore you use your trades earlier.

Capiche? (I love that word):D

Interesting article on Neil Craig's "Perfect world".

That is what I'd been hoping - Goodwin, Mcleod and Edwards on forward duties. Neil Craig likes quick change and seems to be trustworthy... or more trustworthy than Sheedy.

Deledio and Headland

or

NG Brown and R. Murphy

Dessy loves February but i dont know if he can carry the form throughout the year.

Thoughts ?

Much of a muchness. I've thought about both Brown and Deledio and I think Deledio has the better chance of beating his average. People forget Brown had forays into the midfield during his 100+ days - he rarely does that now but will still get a few 100+.

The second two are nasty and I would consider changing my team to avoid the decision. Murphy has shown promise at the Bulldogs but I fear injury and time has eaten away at his opportunity to show his full dreamteam potential. On that basis I'd choose Des as he should at least meet his average.

The first one.

Deledio over Brown I'd say, Headland and Murphy are both interesting choices, Headland hasn't proven to be consistent since leaving Brisbane, Murphy 2nd year back from a knee reco playing an important role up forward for the Doggies probably has more upside relative to his price.

Option two for mine.

Headland is inconsistent and Deledio, whilst he may explode this year (we said this last year also) he will be one of the most selected players in the comp IMO.

Brown looks ready to step back up to fantasy dominance, and I think will be a pretty unique selection. Murphy appears to be moving well in the preseason.

Have you considered players such as Hall, Fev and Aaron Davey instead of Murphy.

Yes I have considered them.
Hall - His up the ground work is behind him i believe
Fev - Sure he has a midfield to deliver the pill, but last year frustrated me too much
Davey - Still having a look at him, will depend on fitness

I just still think NG Brown has something to prove. Even though his 30, hes had his first full pre season in a while and I think will be given a license to do what he wants i.e move up the ground. He was the DT king a couple years back, lets hope he can show that form again.

R Murphy I think will benefit from a revamped forward structure and the inclusion of Scott Welsh.

I kind of capiche what you're saying. Following that logic through though, are you saying that team Peckin Away, who won the chockies last year, may not have actually won his league? I'd be shocked...

Obviously the money is more enticing than belting the suitcases out of your mates.. I think.

Hmmm... think I'll sleep on it. I'm nowhere near convinced you can't have your cake and eat it too yet.

Murphy has been in and out of my side more times than I care to count. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he kills it this year.. especially if I don't end up going with him.

To be fair I think (though not 100%) that peckin away didn't trade for like the first eight rounds. I think you would need an unbelievably team to get away with this though. Last year I had the highest ranking in my league and was knocked out in week one of finals. Obviously it is possible to do both, but not ideal.
