it doesnt matter as much who you have starting, its who you finish with.. well who you have around round 10-12 anyways

But who you start with dictates who you can have by round 10-12... ;)

50% of Dreamteam success is in picking your starting team. The rest is in trading at the right times, captain/bench selections and luck with injuries...

yeah i know what you mean walesy im just assuming the vast majority of people on these boards would have at least a DECENT starting team for round 1. I mean a good player with a decent team can do very well if you play the game right. So as to say "i dont have any geelong players" for round 1 isnt too big an issue. Though id be concerned if they were as good as last year and u didnt have any by round 10 :)

:D And now I'm on board. :) fair point.

You make a very large assumption there

Can anyone see B.Reid forcing his way into the collingwood side this year?

Who would have to make way for him and if there was an injury, would he be next pick? He seems like a good footballer

As far as I can tell, there'd need to be an injury to Rusling, Cloke or Rocca. Otherwise I don't think he'd even play 10 games.

The Prismall thing has got me stumped...classic Bigfooty gravytrain.

1. Prismall will only be making the team due to injury to Wojinski. When he's back where does Prismall go ?
2. Likely pts from Prismall expect about the same as a cheaper top midfield 06/07 draft pick.
3. Prismall is a depth player in a flag winning list with lots of depth.
4. There are better choices for about the same money. Guys who are likely to play 22 rounds solid.

I got a question too...is S Thompson this yrs Riggio ?

prismal... sshhhh...

S Thompson... Riggio was never a gun midfielder though!!

(I'm kidding, I'm worried about it as well - North have a terrible habit of getting two early games into their young. :) )

I know we will know the teams for

Carlton, Richmond, Port and Geelong.

Will we have enough times to alter our team by the time the

Collingwood, Fremantle, St Kilda, Sydney, West Coast, and Brisbane teams are announced?

You'll have roughly 70 minutes from when the teams are officially released.

don't know how long they will take to get on-line.

but I'm sure the AFL web-site will get hammered.

I'm hoping that Big footy will get them listed somewhere within 40 minutes, leaving 30 minutes to make any corrections to both my SC and DT.

Here's hoping the site doesn't crash out mid-trade though!

Kudos to 54Dogs and others for the good posts over the last few pages. :thumbsu:

So after tinkering around with my team a bit more, I'm starting to feel as though it could be the team I end up with, although I do have one problem and I think it may come back to haunt me;
I don't have a Cornes.
Is anyone else Cornes-less, or am I the only one?
I would strongly recommend Chad. This is the first year I've taken him - in previous years I have brushed him off as being too expensive, but now I see that he is definitely worth it. Kane is one of the best DT players in the last few years, but there are other viable midfield options to consider, however in the backline there are only a couple of guys capable of averaging 90+ for the season. You really should take either Cornes or Bowden.

Is there a website you can go to, to have a look at a players DT numbers form last year?
www.fanfooty.com.au or

The difference with S.Thompson is that he's older. Pretty sure he's 23. Which should mean that his body is more capable of handling AFL footy than say Hansen and Riggio.

Just to clear up some confusion, although DT is ran through the AFL, it is not necesarily going to cause the site to go into meltdown. Everyone said it would meltdown when DT opened and there has not been an issue since it did as far as I am aware. Also if you notice the address when you log into DT it comes up as afl1.virtualsports.com.au I have checked that and you can get into DT using an address up to afl15.virtualsports.com.au. SO with 15 different pages available to log in with people should not have a problem with logging in Thursday afternoon.

Thanks mate for the help.

Looking for a competitive league. So if anyone needs numbers, please post or PM a league code.
Thanks in advance.

What are peoples opinions on Brent Reiley and Jordan McMahon. Anybody reckon they are worth looking at?
I'd say Reilly is a smokey this year. With McLeod/Goodwin playing forward and back more that may free up space in the middle for players like VB and Reilly. Definitely worth considering.
I'm not a McMahon fan. Each year he starts off with a few 80s/90s in the first few rounds but then fades down to 50s-70s where he stays most of the season.

B: Ch. Cornes, Gilbee, Gram, Ellis, Barlow, Mattner, Symes - Myers, S. Thompson (Kang)
M: Swan, Cooney, Stevens, Dal Santo, Dyson, Houli - Palmer, Bird
R: Cox, Simmonds - Hampson, Meeson
F: Pavlich, R.O'Keefe, B. Hall, Didak, Monfries, Porplyzia, B. Vince - Rioli, Tippett

thoughts?
