ok, 60% is quite a bit, but from watching the game, i barely noticed him on the ground for that much of the game...and there is mention of it in one of the articles on the WCE board - i think it's a review of the game. it's only listed as an injury concern at the moment, so he may or may not be able to play this week.

Probably because he played in the forward pocket the whole game, and the ball barely went up there. How he got 45 amazes me.

Agree.

Good call. But I think sensible DT'ers would've avoided him because there were better options at his price anyway.

Yes! He was taking the piss. No need to spell it out though.
Btw, I like your stuff DBT ;)

As I said before: Thornton = Brennan Mk II

Notice I said once your rookies max out i.e. once they peak in price. Depending on the player, this will be sometime between rounds 6-10, or if they are J.Selwood then they will be increasing right up till Rds 14-16.
At this time, you can capitalise on their cash increase by trading them down to a 83k player. Then you will need to use the extra funds to upgrade another player to a premium.
Note: you can't utilise the cash a player has gained until you trade them out. Keep that in mind.

No need to spell it out? I could say the same thing to you. All you did was reinforce what everyone else said, without adding much new at all.

I hear some people talking about how last years winner didn't use a trade till round 8. The reason why last years winner didn't use a trade till round 8 is because he got his squad right from the start and picked the right cash cows etc. Pretty rare for that to happen. So there's nothing wrong with trading early if you've got some holes to fill, you just gotta make sure you don't blow 2 trades each week.

I have to agree, I really want to see if peckin away trades away J. Morton this week or not.

I ran into some bad luck/bad pick at the start of the season.

Lucas (Bad Luck) -> Hill
and
Armitage (Bad pick) -> Hodge (I thought this pick will give me a gun that most teams don't have)

I traded these two players after the first week. Some may see that as wasting trades but so far I am happy. I think the key is like egg said, as long as every week you don't trade 2 players, you should be fine.

I have put some more thought into my team.

7 * Upgrade to Gun (14 Trades)
1 * Stupid pick's at the start (2 Trades)
4 * Injury Trade (4 trades - thinking of straight swaps here)

That should be roughly my trading pattern for the year, hoping to do no more sideway styled changes.

I have 4 backs, 4 Midfielders, 1 ruck and 3 backs which are locked in, never going to trade

I have 3 backs, 2 Mids, 2 Rucks, 2 forwards which are mid ranged players (Used for upgrading)

I have 2 backs, 2 Mids, *1 Ruck, 4 Forwards which are my cash cows.
*Being very liberal with the term cash cow here

When I said that, I was referring to dont bowl there's comments about Osbourne - which were clearly sarcastic, although the humour lies in the fact that some people may not recognise this.

Good analysis there. I have roughly 9 i might upgrade, but i don't even know if it will be worth upgrading some as they are scoring just as well as any other premium atm.

Gamble
Rioli
Wood
Dyson
Houli
N Stevens
Symes
Mattner
Ellis

The ones in bold are the obvious upgrades....not sure on the others.

No. There's no such thing as 'overpriced'.A players price is based on how they went the season before, and he was awesome last year. Still to make judgments, another 20 rounds to go, mate.
It depends how you define a player's price or value.
I would say that a player if overpriced if they are not likely to maintain that price (average score) this season.

I would be very surprised if this years winner has any of these players come round 22, maybe stevens as 4-5th midfielder.

Old players, yes. SJ, IMO, was a unique pick at that price range. Everyone else would have gone for Roo, Brown, etc. He has started poorly. That said, he should dominate this week. He loves Skilled.

can i get some feedback on this team please

Thornton
Bowden
Shaw
Cornes
Jones
Symes
Fisher

Priddis
Cross
Palmer
Bird
Dyson
Stevens

Cox
Simmonds

Brown
Johnson
Pavlich
Chapman
Porplyzia
Hill
Rioli

Very good team. Done very well if you havent used any trades yet and have that squad

Okay, then. Looks like we agree on that.

I've got a question of my own:

I've got LeCras on the pine, should I trade in Hill or take a gamble?
;)

Just wondering what you guys would do

Upgrade Drummond to Bowden (have cornes) with extra cash

or

downgrade to gilbee or milburn

Just a few very quick questions:

Most importantly, do players prices change after this round or after round 4?

think it's worth trading mcintosh for cox? such a good captain is what makes it tempting.

hope we have another week till prices change as birchall, symes still want to check out as well as osbourne.

also, anyone else think medhurst and cambell wont last?

will angus monfries get a game this week? if not what can i do with him? i have just over 20k in the bank and havn't used any trades and would like to keep it that way if possible

also, if you make a team after round 1 and it scores the highest for the round do you get the prize or is it like cheating?

SORRY FOR REPOST!

Prices upgraded after this round, provided the player has played 3 games.
Yes - Get Cox
Forget Osborne
Medhurst is OK, history of being a reasonably effective goal sneak. Is very strong and hard to knock to the ground, just like Ablett (that's where the comparison ends); holds his ground in a marking contest very well.
Campbell - dont know

And no, its not cheating if you win a round entering after round 1.
I can just hear Samwise opening a new email account

Prices change after a player has played 2 games. If someone has played both Rounds 1 and 2, then their price will change this week. If a player didn't play round 1 but played round 2 and plays this week, then his price will not change until after he plays in round 3.
Cox is great, but McIntosh isn't the worst player
I agree with you - Medhurst and Campbell will not last.

Forget Osborne

I agree with osbourne, 3 goals last week, 6 tackles first week, wont last especially when hawthorn lose or just not thrash.

however, thornton seems the goods. another backman who just gets cheap kicks and marks. anyone think otherwise?

I was thinking of trading dew for j.hill and c.judd for j.corey since it looks as tho judd isnt fully right yet?
Wat do ppl think?
Should i trade judd?
