yeah i realise i shouldve picked him. the trade with getting hall in, porpz is another one ill consider there. dependent on who's in better form really, but im leaning towards hall as he is more an out and out gun imo.

and yeah, 5 trades by week 5. my team is pretty screwed up at the moment, which is frustrating as i had the likes of porpz, hall, kelly and thornton in my team first up but didnt have the guts to stick with them so ive gotta fix it up ASAP (im in the top 2500, so not that far behind)
not planning to use anything after that for a while though, barring injury.

Hindsight is a lovely thing, we do over think our lists, I didnt go with my gut prior to round 1 and pick Gamble either, so it cost me a trade. Worth is, he's a ripper

Fair call:

a) Hasnt been a lot of talk about Masten and if he will play the derby, in my opinion he wont but just wait for the team to come out.
b) Palmer was awesome on Saturday night and will play at least the next 5-6 games then shoulh have a rest.
c) Ibbo wasnt great on Sat night but will be a very good player, may not play the derby but should play some games later in the season.

Yes he was! Looks like a ready made footballer.

My father inlaw (lives in perth) says that Jmac is almost 100% to replace Masten for the Derby but he did post that on the coaches box forum... (and I posted a similar line about Osbourne) so i'm not sure if it's "gamesmanship"

Good to see you stuck with Stanton after a bad round.

Dont like Nicoski. As the season progresses will get more a Daniel Chick role, but at least he'll be playing

Also think you'r defence is a bit so-so with Mattner, Kennelly & Symes.
Maybe need to get rid of Mattner or Nicoski for a rookie. Watch this space on S Selwood, not far away for a game.

Centre line good with plenty of $ improvement to come.

If you are really keen on getting Cox the only thing I would suggest is put favourite player loyalty aside and bite the bullet and trade Houli or use your hatred for Hawthorn (after all I don't know a Bomber fan who likes them) and trade out Tuck to Palmer or Ebert, then upgrade Kosi to Cox this week because Kosi looks out of form and may drop too far in price for you to then upgrade to Cox who is also set to rise. Once that is done just sit back for 3-4 weeks and don't touch the side barring a LTI.

Gamble is a special, I'm tipping him to be this years Joel Selwood, will have bypassed Tomahawk in Bombers view within 2-3 weeks

Wait for your cash cows to max out, then use the funds to upgrade Kosi -> Cox and one of Nicoski/Mattner/Symes
You also should aim to get another premium forward in there sometime, someone like BJ, Riewoldt or Chappers

Wow so many problems with that team

4 players in your backline not playing and Bradshaw is hit and miss coming back from a reco. Too many rookies in there plus Drumond who is injury prone.

Mids - Scotland will get a lot less of it with Judd and Stevens playing plus Ratten using Thorton in the mop up role down back.
Buckley - ??? enough said he is a dud in a dud side
Tuck well you got lucky there but he will not keep it up once all the Hawk player come back

Rucks OK don't like your bench though so you should hope you don't get an injury

Forwards - very solid best part of your team and I would not touch them untill you have fixed your backs first and then mids.

In a nutshell you will waste too many trades trying to upgrade players.

I was going to give a proper response to this but to say 'i will waste to mny trades uprading' is a terrible point. I have 6 positions in my 22 that need upgrading all year.

A simple way of looking at it is to answer the following:
How many points are you expecting off of Houli or Tuck & Kosi in the next 1-3 weeks?
How many points would you likely get from trading in Cox & Palmer or Ebert?
If they work out about the same then hold off and wait, if it is going to improve your side signifigantly then make the trades.

102nd last year. Yeah that team has some serious work to do. From the amount of shit you talk on here I thought it would be better. Buckley, bad pick up, Fraser is stinking the joint up, Drummond is injured, Hartlett suspended, Bradshaw will get consistent 40's, N. Brown will struggle this year, starting both Jetta and Rioli was too risky.

I agree the team is not in a good state, however it still has great potential.

Buckley - Ripper preseason, Dean Bailey praising him non stop, Played well in NAB cup games. Melbourne get pumped and he hasnt played well. And because of this I will prob trade him next week for Palmer.

Hartlett - Unfortunate

Fraser - Will come good, scored poorly round 1, 68 in round 2 in the rain is not bad considering the conditions. Still capable of 85-90 average

Drummond - Injury prone and i will suffer because i took the risk on him

Bradshaw - 50's and 60's IMO

N Brown - Will come good, I still rate him very highly, dont right him off yet

Having 2 of Jetta/Rioli/Gamble/Tippett - Risky yet has paid off so far by allowing me to have extra top notch premiums

Your team is ok. Main problem is the lack of elite players. Deledio, hall, Cloke, Porps all in your forward line... Too much money spent here without the consistent superstars. Your backline has lots of guys in teh middle of the road as well.

I will not be picking him up this week, all my players in my foward line have performed so far and im not going to waste a trade to get him for one of my rookies on the bench because they are both peforming

Notice I said once your rookies max out i.e. once they peak in price. Depending on the player, this will be sometime between rounds 6-10, or if they are J.Selwood then they will be increasing right up till Rds 14-16.
At this time, you can capitalise on their cash increase by trading them down to a 83k player. Then you will need to use the extra funds to upgrade another player to a premium.
Note: you can't utilise the cash a player has gained until you trade them out. Keep that in mind.

Yeh basically everyone is picking him up. It will be quite amusing to see exactly how many.

J.Hill current selection is at 11,806. In round 1 it was 2,632. So alot of people jumped on him last week.

But this week seems even more of a rush to get Hill so i wouldn't be suprised if that 11 thousand became 20-30 thousand.

Nope, can't justify screwing my forwards up just to get 1 cow in. I'm happy with Rioli/Gamble/Tippett combo.

I have changed my mind several times on this weeks trades.
