I am only basing this on news reports and stuff I've read on the AFL website, but I'd say he will play for all it's worth. Surely you have a better option than starting him on the field though?

not the kind to jump off players to quickly but i think that fact that kossie wont be getting time in the middle this year as the saints have bought gardiner and king in will affect his numbers.

depends on the strength of your forward line....
if its weak then getting porpz in is probably a good move, but if you have another area of your team; one perhaps where you are fielding 1 or 2 rookies then freeing up the cash could well be worth it...

To people that have Trent West from Geelong in their DT, are you people considering trading him down to a rookie ruck (Joel Tippett maybe) once he has played his 3 games this weekend...? Ottens will be back next week from my knowledge (Was just resting him this week, taking a slow approach) and won't get another sniff all year barring injuries...He'll be about $100k after this round from the new price calculator on DT talk, so downgrading him to a rookie at 72k, will give you an extra $28k to play around with...Thoughts...?
no, no, never! Cash cows should be making you 100k. 28k is simply not worth a trade.

GS is that trade a joke or something? First of all Ottens could be out for much longer than first expected, and whats the point of making a trade to make 28k for a player that probably wont play all year...

I didn't really take much notice of price flunctuations last year guys, as it was my first year, I got the Newbie blues...Ottens out for much longer than expected...? I thought he was due back this week, but they took the conservative approach and didn't want to take the risk of doing anything major..? Anyway, forget I said anything...
Definitely not, ruckmen are pretty ordinary cash cows anyways. If Ottens was out for longer and West's scores improved to the point he goes up about $100k then it might be worth it...
On the news they said Ottens hasn't started running since his injury, and the club said they didnt know when he would be back, which is never a good sign
