In all honesty, DT should open prob 2 days or so beforehand. I've han a team basically locked in a for a few weeks now, I had a final team locked for the past week since the NAB finished, and in one day today, Ive lost count how many times the team has been changed...

So on that note, I was going to take Armitage, however have the extra dough for Houli. Both have had good pre-seasons, Is Houli worth the extra 50k, and is one more likely to get game tme than the other?

EDIT:

Also on this note: Thompson & Armitage, or Priddis & Houli?

Great pre-season? what are you trippin' on? ;)
Warren Tredrea PTA FWD $250,100 $264,700 $14,600 44 34 0 82 53
You hacks read into stats too much. You do realise that the first 2 games he played less than a half? Double those stats and they dont look so bad. Stepped it up in Game 4 and played around 3 quaters IIRC.

Dunno why Im giving such good advice out. If you dont wanna take note, thats fine. Your problem, not mine

You have to be one of the most negative people around this forum

Last year my main problem was keep too many cheap options in the forward line and backline. I had packed the midfield full of guns.

Due to the fact that you have 7 Forwards and 7 Backmen there is a higher chance you will need to call on services of a bench player.

So this year I am going for more depth in the backline and forward line.

Do other people agree with these thoughts? or can you still get away with having two cheap options in the forward line and backline?

You do know that Dreanteam is based on stats dont you ? And that is why people look into them so much...

Yes, good advice, don't pay attention to *stats* when playing a game about *stats*... ;)

I quite like these stats.
2005 PA 22 2107 95.7
2006 PA 11 781 71
2007 PA 17 979 57.5

Yep, a slippery, slippery slope...

Is there anywhere we can source the team lists other than the AFL website - or somewhere that posts them before the AFL website? Otherwise I will have to lock in a less risky team....

If anyone is wondering Rocky Rambo and Sante aren't the best people to take advice from.

Actually Rocky Rambo has probably been giving out the best advice so far. Certainly will be listening to his opinions moreso that others around here. His point re: Tredrea is valid by the way. I won't be picking him, but you need to know the gametime along with the stats.

As for Sante, you are right, this guy is a tool.

Yeh Dreamteam is based on PRE-SEASON stats. Rules out guys like Jonathan Brown and Kane Cornes.

Idiot.

wow... name calling... good for you.

What about these ones, they aren't pre-season at all

95.7, 71, 57.5

And yet you and your PRE-season TOG arguement has you CERTAIN that Tredders is a good pick up...

Hi Pot!

The AFL website are perhaps one of the last to post information. Someone might be able to give you a website, but as soon as it is sourced someone else, it is sourced on BF.

Hi Pot!
You can always tell a DT hack.

Tredrea is in the best shape he has been in for the last 2 years. Thus the crap DT stats. His Knee is now fine and of course he wont ever get back to his best, but an average of 70-75 is realistic, if not expected.

wow, so you expect his average to go up 15?

maaaan, I'll be behind the 8-ball if I don't get in on that action, you're right!

I don't agree with your reasoning toward Priddis even though you are a WC support but i do with the Tredrea issue. His knee seems to be in much better shape than the previous years according to the Port board and also a few reports. IMO will average around 70 odd, not in my team though

I done exactly the same year, and like me, you may have realised that its not the best tactic. Its not so much a point of having more players, and thus needing to call on your bench players as opposed to their simply being less chance to get a good, cheap player in the foward and back.

I have spent a lot more money on my foward line, was planning to do the same with my backline, however a lot of the backs this year are fairly risky for their price. But certainly the midfield can always be considered last, and you can still make a decent one.

Mate, settle down, We all know pre-season stats are not eveything, but in saying that if you don't look into pre-season stats then you can be disadvantaged by missing out on a great pick-up. And as for you saying that people arn't going to pick Johno Brown and Cornes then you out of your mind, They are proven consistant DT'ers, Tredrea was once a great DT'er but has been on a consistant slide down hill these past 2 - 3 years and i personaly think that you are better of getting ayoung prospect.
