News AFL Drugs Claims Bombshell

I guess cops only test for drugs while driving.

Last time I was alcohol/drug tested at the breath testing ambush, I said to the 14 yr old Constable (well he looked 14) "good luck sorting out the drugs you're looking for from all the other drugs I'm taking."

He didn't know whether to laugh or arrest me.

"........... and the removal of Mr Bartlett as president of Melbourne after he suggested to Mr Goyder and Mr McLachlan that AFL officials be regularly drug tested."

This should be news!

Anyhow, not even surprised in the slightest. Hardly a bombshell for me the AFL clearly has no integrity.
Hiding stuff has been a hallmark of powerful institutions for like ever.
Looks like it was all sanctioned as ok practice by the AFL, nothing to see here. Dillon walks off into the sunset unscathed. The world continues to turn, there's games this weekend to worry about now.

Any late withdrawls this week with err, err, hamstring awareness

Police officer told me very different in NT. Basically if there’s public access, ie your front driveway, then no good. But if you’re secured in your backyard then they have no power.

But police aren’t always the most law understanding persons. Another reminder to research myself.
NT seems to have different wording to the states:

Northern Territory
The Northern Territory Traffic Act 1987 allows police to conduct breath tests on private property.

Police may request a breath test if drunk driving is suspected. Accidents on private property are not covered, but you can claim if you are involved in an accident.

And where did I mention that you were ok if you’d been driving on the road? Can you quote that bit please? I’m talking only about firing up your car in your secured back yard whilst under the influence. Nowhere else.
And where did you mention that you weren’t ok if you’d been driving on the road? You said conclusively that if you’re on your own private property they can’t breath test you. You didn’t qualify it like you should have.

I'm much more likely to believe Harley than Goodwin.

I'm not sure if I should be surprised the clubs don't know about this.
The whole thing is a joke.
Apparently only club doctors knew. So coaches were being lied to when their players were bullshitting and clubs recruiting players had no idea.

Typical AFL bullshit. The players have too much power. **** privacy, should be written in your contract if you test positive the club finds out.

The players deserve privacy as much as anyone.

I simply draw the line at the AFL aiding and abetting them avoiding anti-doping tests

How does this work though? Do the doctors go along with the lie about a player being out with an injury? Surely that’s a breach of trust between the doctor and club for the doctor to support the lie.

I read volvo did some testing where by you could drive said V8 for 7-8 years before you match the pollutant levels of an electric car that's still on the showroom floor.............
I doubt this a reputable article...

Basically the AFL are comfortable with everyone lying if it protects their brand.

They couldn't give a shit about ethics.
