In be a pro mode you need to be the captain in order to access the team lineup. So if you start as a rookie you will need to be prompted to that position.

Ahhhh yes! It's this! I accidentally simmed my first game after being subbed off and was made captain the week after so I never experienced any of those issues.

About to play my first game online having never played a regular match offline, only Be a Pro. What should I expect? Tips?

Holly hell the AIs kicking goals is unbelievably bad its wrecking the game for me.

They are definitely missing on purpose.

Try Legend difficulty. It's almost the complete opposite.

Pulling of this sort of stuff is pretty cool, playing on normal difficulty starting to get to grips with everything.

I've only nailed one kick like that out of 15 attempts

I can see why Hawthorn have to wear white clash guernseys. I just tried Hawthorn wearing the brown away guernsey v Adelaide. And I can barely see who is who haha.

Simmed through a season and contracts and drafts are just pointless ill just do one season
Marking is still bloody hard but i need to work on it- maybe just my skill level
Computer misses shots close in
I dominate ruck but keep bashing it to their chb
I find it easy to miskick the wrong way when you get sudden possession- may be my skill level
Kicking in wtf
Instead of kicking in basically just play on and run the field and link handballs and can often goal

Fun comeback as i was getting the hang of it

Lucky its afl so i cut it more slack,

The marking is seriously ruining the fun for me. The amount of times I take front spot and the bloke behind me miraculously takes it when they're no where near is really infuriating. If the marking is fixed it will be a really good game.

Using LT when kicking makes marking 10x easier. Use it every kick, nearly always lands to a player on a lead.

Just did a Puopolo special run from the 50m arc, all the way to the goal square. Get tackled as I started to kick the ball... gets called a goal, so I figure it must have hit the leg as I was tackled to the ground. Have done the instant replay (wish I knew how to make clips on the Xbox version!) and the ball just drops as I get tackled. I'll still take the goal

What is this garbage?

Got the number one pick and there are players in the high 80s!

Also managed to trade in Fyfe, Dusty, Heath Shaw, Alex Rance, Bont, Tom Lynch, and Callum Mills just as Brisbane.

Wicked Witches this makes the career mode almost unplayable, how is this acceptable? Do you really think all this is realistic or do you just not care?

I'm more confused as to why some of them have lower potentials than starting overalls.

I was able to put my created pro in, during tac games, I assume this is because I was captain? Soon as I went to AFL I cant put myself back on the field.

Just a note on any Be a Pro mode, I hope people can appreciate that AFL as a sport is probably one of the worst for such a mode. There are so many people on such a huge ground that you are frequently going to be out of the action. Even in soccer it can be a bit of a chore at times. It's best suited for hockey and basketball.

Also, the fact that WW have in their mind that AFL is a game played in pairs of players tethered to within a 20 metre radius of their position makes it even less fun. Do they expect you to just be a statue?

First game done actually a lot better than I thought. Hand balling feels good, players obviously don't run where you want all the time but that's standard. The grounds look really good I reckon players look the same as 10 years ago but something you can get passed.

Couple patches and I really believe this has the potential to be a very good AFL game

Only legend difficulty they make the shots they should make. All other difficulties they miss sure goals.

A good start

Once you figure out marking the game is quite enjoyable.

I find that pressing the button as soon as the ball is on the way down seems to work.
