I don't give a shit about conga line excuses. It shouldn't happen.

And it probably won't under normal conditions.
We don't know for sure yet.

If Preuss' stamina isn't going down AT ALL, enabling him to run much much further than should be the case that's a pretty good and reasonable excuse for stupid shit happening behind him.
That's just how it is.

I was more replying to your claim that neither of those things EVER happened in live 1 which is clear BS and there's a video 5 posts above yours showing exactly that.

Let's get some things straight.

Firstly, conga lines were in the video at times but did you notice that they only lasted a couple of seconds at most. In past afl games these conga lines would have lasted a lot longer.

Secondly, the roos players sucked at playing the game. People are mistaking this for being bad gameplay but it was simply the boys lack of experience with the game controls. Hence, Thompson handballed it through the big sticks and couldn't even get a set shot straight.

Thirdly, the AI were obviously on the easiest difficulty maybe even 'women's' easiest difficulty. This would explain part of the reason for why Preuss ran with the ball for such a long way. As in all sport games, when the difficulty is set to the lowest possible this really effects the gameplay realism as the AI aren't playing at their best.

Fourth, the roos players were all playing on the same team therefore, this explains why there was nowhere near the same fluidity of ball movement as experienced in the GWS video. Not only were they inexperienced with the new game but they were also finding it hard to gel as a team which is hard to do when you don't know the controls.

Fifth, Brayden Preuss. Its obvious the roos boys have went from one extreme to the next, tweaking Preuss's attributes to 99 for everything. This was the main theme of the video.

Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Roos staff compiled the video themselves. This was therefore out of WW's control how it would influence the fans perceptions of the game.

I for one, am just as excited for the game now as I was after the GWS video. You need to look at the gameplay in the bigger picture not how it plays under different influences (inaccurate player ratings, poor gaming skills, low match difficulty.)

Dont stress too much guys, the new video was clearly played on the easiest settings and it was clear that Preuss had his stats modified so they were maxed out, its already been analysed and he didn't lose any stamina during that big run whereas all the other players were stuffed after a while, it was all setup by North Melbourne as the theme for the video hence why they made fun of him having the lowest rating. Also the fact that all north players were all on the same team and were useless had a lot to do with it, the GWS video is a much better representation of what we can all expect to see in the game and I for one am pumped and cant wait.

Does anyone follow Toby McLean on Instagram? His Insta story is him playing AFL Evolution at home with Lin Jong, but on closer inspection to me it looks like AFL Live 1.

Anyone else care to have a look?

It does say AFL Evolution so i would assume it is. I guess all the players get given a copy.

The thing I am concerned about is the set shots in the vid. It looked like overpowering it is the only way to miss if you are aiming right at the goals.

If Preuss' stats were modified the "joke" would have worked better if he had distracted the rest of them (Hey guys, there's 4 points out the window over there!) then you actually see him go through the menus while boosting his stats, then the other guys come back (Preuss you knob, that's just Hawthorn after beating the Eagles at the 'G, that doesn't count!) then you see Preuss running the length of the field.

Joke would have been clearer, and we'd have 100% confirmation about what happened.

every AFL game makes it somewhat easy to kick goals, a feature you don't want to over complicate just yet, considering all age groups might buy the game.

The confirmation is in the GWS video when they say that you can change skills sliders..

For those asking about the changing weather or time of day, WW confirmed weather does not change but there is a twilight time of day option

If Wicked Witch were wanting to showcase the game by having the North Melbourne players trying it out, you would think they would keep all the settings on basic and have them play on a normal difficulty and not presumably on easy. I do agree that they most likely changed the stats of Pruess and changed speed/stamina, but this just looks poor on their behalf. I'll be getting the game anyway

maybe it's just a bit of fun though...

to say it's poor on their behalf might be overthinking things a bit...

i think the concept of actual AFL teams playing the game is pretty cool.

Unless North Melbourne had all control over the footage and put it up themselves, which is terrible footage

8 pages of negative comments from a lot of you 'anal-ysing' everything that your eyes show you! In 7 days time you will be able to make your own judgment call on the game, why not be patient and then play it first, and then make these calls?

Conga line criminals.

it's not terrible footage..

it's a bit of fun and a nice concept.

the jist of the video is seeing the team play the game, warts and all and it's not released by Tru Blu it's a North Melbourne video..

honestly, who cares and stop calling it terrible when it ain't.

I think it's a fantastic thing having the players 'play' the game, but releasing poor gameplay of Pruess running over 50m without getting tacked against Fremantle is unrealistic for a game aiming to recreate realism

it's not unrealistic though..

if you can change the sliders of players then it's a perfectly valid feature to watch occur. Also the feature shows that instead of being tackled easily, you can actually run off your man a bit.

just because it's not what you wanted doesn't make it bad.

if you want a straight forward video then just watch the GWS one, problem solved.

Even if the stats were edited there's no excuse for the conga line that formed while Pruess was running. You could have 99speed/stamina in LIVE1 and you still never had players run the length of the field or conga lines.
Did you not see the video of AFL Live 1 posted just before? The conga line was even worse than in that AFL Evolution video.

Doubt any store would have it already. Bring on this time next week! Happy that twilight games are included!

WW weren't even the ones that created the video. A north Melbourne guy had the video camera which means this is completely the Roos doing. WW not involved at all. and Preuss surging away is great because it shows that the ratings actually matter. When this game finally comes out next weekend I''m going to be chaning all the players attributes (weirdo's and Xsyrum's versions and sharing them online. Watch this Space!
