Yeah I am not expecting it at all. But I'll be able to download it whilst at work and have it ready for when I get home atleast.

The one thing that I hope happens shortly after release (no matter how bad the game is, or how poorly it is reviewed) is the AFL announcing that WW have a contract to make a few more iterations of AFL Evolution.

Its honestly the only way we are ever going to get an AFL game of high quality. Having this game be a one and done on current Gen will do nothing for the growth of AFL video games, and the next one down the line will be just as questionable.
I agree. It takes time for game series to really hit their strides and if Tru Blu decide to do what they did to Big Ant with Wicked Witch and take the series away from WW after finally getting a good go to make a decent AFL game (We will find out how it comes out very soon.) and give it to another dev team like Trickstar Games or Torus Games. It would be a disaster. (Say what you will about AFL Live 2, At least it's not Ashes Cricket 2013.)

That really depends if the game is good or not. I don't think people would have been too keen on them developing more games after Live 2, and I really do think they're just the low budget solution.

It would seem WW are the designated AFL game developer. This is their second console/PC AFL game, and they've been releasing various handheld/low-spec device games for a while now. I don't see that changing. If this game is successful, even less so.

They were kept on as developers, when there's been word from a certain other developer that Live 2 was the most returned game.

Boy, oh, boy, somebody teleport over there and grab a copy.

Just before somebody actually does pop by the gamesmen they will 100% not break street date.

But you see thats exactly what the AFL have done in the past and it has gotten us nowhere. Constantly jumping off companies after one or two go's at it, and then lumping it on another developer and getting them to create a game engine from scratch.
Even if AFL Evolution is buggy as hell (and chances are it might well be) I would give them at least another 2 or 3 game contract, and then judge them at the end of that.

This will be their second attempt, though. If this one isn't much better than their last one, what does that say about their capacity to develop a good AFL game? For their second console/PC game (not counting wii), their measuring stick is the one and only AFL game BA developed 6 years ago, which shouldn't really be setting the bar all too high. They have been involved making AFL games in some form since 2009. It's time for them to produce something playable.

4 new pages today.

I got excited when I came on and hoped maybe the game had broken street date....

Nope, just more pages of bullshit again...
Yes we should all sit around and wait patiently until someone breaks the street date. No discussion allowed until then.

Don't you understand people have to look busy while working and posting on bigfooty is the best way to do it ???

That's not really true, though. This is iteration number 7 for Wicked Witch and they have yet to surpass Big Ant's first attempt. I mean, that can all change in a day or so, but I'm sure this new game is just mimicking all the past games. It's clear they were chosen as a low budget solution.

Different Gen console, and different game engine from what we have heard so I am happy to treat this one as the start of a new attempt.

Why not count The Wii version? Live 2 is basically that game with a few alterations.

They've stated they're imitating the old games. That's a lot different to what Big Ant did by creating a whole new game based on their game analysis.

I really don't blame people for doing that to be honest. (I didn't even buy it until the update and that was only because I needed a sim engine for my fantasy league where I could change line-ups without having to do a custom season. I haven't looked back since I managed to get Footy Fanatic FX working.) But ultimately at this point, It might be better to have WW stay on and work on future iterations instead of just shipping off the IP to another even cheaper company to create a game that is even worse than AFL Live 2. (Gameplay withholding at the moment but keep in mind, Even the great Big Ant didn't have a great start with the RLL series and look where that is today.)
