Sadly I have had the same problem. Now on travel with work, so thanks for that. No trades for me this week.

Does anyone know how the bye rounds work for RDT?

I know you get 3 trades but is it the best 18 you can field or just normal?

Thanks for any advice on this as I just cant seem to find an answer for RDT

Best 18 you can field.

Edit -
Club Byes and 'Best 18' scoring in 2014
  • There will be three rounds (8, 9 & 10) in 2014 where six teams will have a bye in each round.
  • To better-reflect the actual competition, you'll score from your best 18 players only (therefore your Best 18 scores) in any position, from your selected, on-field Starting 22. You'll still need to ensure that your best available players are in your starting 22 line-up.

    • During these three rounds, you'll simply need to manage your team as you normally would - select, trade and set your Starting 22 with as many 'non-bye' players as possible in your starting 22 line-up. Remember, it's the Best 18 from your Starting 22, and does not include your bench as per any other week.
    • If you have further available players in any position during these multi-bye rounds, you may set Emergencies for those positions as usual. Emergencies will continue to replace non-starting players in your Starting 22 with the usual rules, in the same position (including any 'bye' player that you may have left in your Starting 22) and their score will only count if it is in your Best 18.
    • Set a Captain (and Vice Captain) as you normally would for double points. If your Captain's doubled score is NOT in your Best 18 scores, then their points will not count - you simply get your Best 18 scores only. Similarly, if your Captain's doubled-score is NOT in your Best 18 scores, you do NOT automatically receive double points from your Vice Captain - your Vice Captain only receives double points as per any other round, if your Captain does not play for any reason.
    • You'll not receive any points from players whose team/s have a bye, and don't play in any of the multi-bye rounds.

Fantasy this year is utter terrible from winning in all 3 leagues last year till playing it just for my mates even that we are not hyped up on Mondays discussing during lunch time how we went it may be a 1min talk and ends up being that none of us give a flying fook this year. They just started to add decent stuff and too many bugs and glitches earlier than he stuffed up alot of people.

E.g. The last game on a Sunday for 5 rounds straight i did not play the players that were playing that game. Lucky everyone was doing chit or i would of been thumped.

That is just a Start

Conclusion: I dont even bother with it and it seems that my mates dont either.

F*** Afl fantasy is so shit. Last week I cancelled my fantasy coach free trial subscription and now when i logged on this week to see if it cancelled, it said I didn't cancel it. Will I most likely get billed for this crap?

Nah, should be fine.

The free trial will just expire after 14 days, in the meantime, use it while it lasts!

Would expect a far better system next year now that they've had their first season in the game as such. I guess it was a bit like a beta version in which you'd like to think it would run a lot smoother next year.

RDT fan myself of course as I prefer the challenges of that game over AFL Fantasy. I'm sure RDT will be working to get live rankings in though, the one feature that has been very impressive from the AFL Fantasy game.

Might be good if RDT could fix the bugs they introduced this year with the trading screen. Filter it, choose a player to trade, swap a player, swap them back..stuffed, wrong list of players showing. Pisses me off no end every time I trade.

RDT person here as well... With the late start to next season next year I'm sure they'll have plenty of time to build a far superior product next season to that of what LOLfantasy offers.

Trade and ranking history has been added :D

They need to have long term history over different seasons I reckon. Good start though. Might be a decent product by next year.

It gets a bad wrap on here, but at least they are improving it every week. I didn't think they could make changes to the model during the year, but obviously they can. Moving in the right direction for sure.

So what's wrong with it really? 2 trades per week is fine. RDT you have 30 trades (which is still a lot, IMO) and 3 trades during the byes. Why is this deemed ok?

Price changes after 1 round is annoying but your players start making $$ straight away, which I'm warming to.

Hopefully next year Fantasy has an eliminator! :D

Yeah that one gets me a bit as well. End up having to do one trade, accepting it and then doing the second trade.

That was a big one missing, really annoyed me not being able to find my weekly/overall ranks from previous weeks.

Think it comes down to personal preference.

One of the things I disliked the most with the AFL Fantasy comp this year was being able to completely repick your side after round 1. That really takes away a lot of the edge people get for putting in the time before the season for their selections. Combine that with the ability to do 2 trades each week and you've got very similar sides for the most part which for me, take away the enjoyment of it.

I won't say that it makes the game any easier to win overall (although I wouldn't like it from trying to win a league perspective) it makes it harder to make up ground in the second half of the year when sides are looking very similar, leaving minimal players of difference from side to side as we've all targeted similar guys with our 2 trades a week.

Not knowing how the pricing system worked (well to be honest, I still don't really) going into the season had a lot of us going in blind. Again, for the average joe, this is fine. But for those that are willing to put in a bit of extra time, they get no rewards for it.

Next year should be a bit better now that we know how the game works. I really think they've got to remove the ability to completely change your team after round 1 though as that would have put a lot of the 'hardcore' fantasy fans off the game imo.

RDT is still my preferred comp and hopefully they have the ability to go on again next year.

Yeah I forgot about that... Shit idea. Although, I was ranked 24th after the 1st round, so I jagged a good score out of it.

Can't see them changing the Unlimited trades at the beginning unfortunately. Picking rookies at the beginning is tricky, makes it so much easier for the 90% of coaches who don't do the research.

I'd like to see assistant coach improved to be more usable. Sometimes sorting doesn't work properly. Also predicted prices and a graph of player value would be handy. Also they need to make it so I can open a bunch of players in a new tabs In stat centre, ATM you can only click on one and when you click back button it doesn't go back to your search results. It's mostly little things like this.

Eliminator needs to be implemented next year, and they need to make the coaches box messaging a bit more obvious, it's right down the bottom on the league pages, and there's no separate one for head to head.

Having to save I've gotten used to, but maybe they could implement an auto save next year.

The pricing I've gotten used to and quite like. The fact that prices move immediately means you're rewarded for jumping on a player early, instead of every man and his dog jumping on after the 2nd game. This seems like it's helped some variety in teams (amongst rookies anyway)

Will be giving the drapht/elite version a go next year. I really like the sound of it.

They've shown they're capable of fixing stuff pretty quickly. It's not the disaster some people think it is and it's only going to get better.

I reckon we'll see bigger and better prizes next year. A lot of the money this year would have gone into setting up the new website. The prizes where you can only take advantage if you're in Melbourne is dumb.

I agree, liking it as well. Adds a risk/reward element as well as acting to increase prices (if you wait a week or two). This makes it harder to generate cash, which in turn makes it harder to complete your team and thus adds to fun/longevity.

It's easy, I don't even try any more. I just log in once a week, do some #yolo trades. Haven't checked the byes or anything. And I'm currently sitting 1,500th with my worst bye out of the way. Won't be signing up to FanHub's AFL Fantasy comp next year unless changes are made. If I wasn't going so well I'd have probably stopped playing this comp all together.
