2 night games in Tassie atleast… hopefully none of the Electricians go on strike
Yes there is. Good rivalry with them in the 70s and 80s, not so much in terms of hatred but respect for onfield exploits. Sticks Kernahan has said this many times. Enjoyed playing against us because it brought the best out of his team.No. Not at all.
So long as you disregard two grand finals and sharing the same ground for 15 years.

It’s a terrific rivalry - and as I said last year leading up to the Carlton game it should be played up by the AFL given the history and crowds between the clubs.I agree. I didn't agree with the post I had previously quoted.
This is shaping up to be a good showtime Hawks fixture, but a terrible fixture for me to take my son to!
I guess that rules out Richmond in the centenary game on May 2 - that would give us a five day turnaround
Agree. Last season was great for my 10 year old. Let’s home we get a few day or twilight games as well. This is shaping up to be a good showtime Hawks fixture, but a terrible fixture for me to take my son to!
Despite the three Bombers GFs, I always felt Carlton was our biggest rival in the 80s. It makes enough sense,It’s a terrific rivalry - and as I said last year leading up to the Carlton game it should be played up by the AFL given the history and crowds between the clubs.
But Carlton really doesn’t make much sense from a centenary point of view. You would think the first team we played (Richmond), our greatest rival (Essendon) or our current rival (Geelong) would make a lot more sense
I missed “twice” in my post.I mean of course we are going to play them. Just heard no games in QLD. Lions and Hawks both requested a game against each other at the Gabba but it was ignored. Guess we find out for sure tomorrow.
Yep, having Essendon and Carlton in the part of the season where they're 'contending'.tough first 6 rounds, especially if we dont get going early in the season
Maybe Saturday nightSaturday arvo?
