So what you said about cousins and McLeod , they are not in the game but their faces would be in the default section when creating a player. Would that be the same for all retired players, even aker who was sacked, and other delisted guys ( polak, trav johnstone, troy selwood etc) or will it only be a handful of guys.

I can see with no proper season mode in that it has trades/draft and retirements, people will have to be creative and do their own.

I know I would make an 18th team and either fill it with my own created players/former AFL players and a couple of current players from each side.

Would make the season more interesting.

Quick question,

In AFL 2007, I always found that on hard, I'd dominate all of the game except for the third quarter (not just a once off, every single time). Is the AI consistent in regards to the specified AI settings?

Cheers.

I know all 2011 jumpers will be in the game but I cant see Bigant putting all the text shit on this years Hawthorns jumper.

Graphics whore? Who cares if it looks worse, if the gameplay is awesome then that's all anyone is supposed to care about...and half the shit in your first post is terribly inaccurate.YES, that is indeed just you. No disrespect AT ALL to BigAnt, but EA Sports are the greatest sports developer in the world.

It was already evident 11 YEARS ago that EA knew what they were doing with regards to an AFL game and had they given it as much time to work in the game would be pushing it with any other sports title as the best going around right now. The fact that AFL 98/99 are still just about better gameplay wise than any other AFL game proves just how good EA were and are at making sports titles.

When EA make a game they make sure they're passionate about the sport in context.

2k sports is light years ahead of EA sports.
Compare NBA 2k to the absolute the absolute mess that is NBA Live franchise followed by the NBA Elite.
EA lost the title as the kings of sports games a long time ago.

Yes.

eg. Carlton Vs Essendon accross two consoles:

Console 1
Carlton player
Essendon player

Vs.

Console 2
Carlton player
Essendon player

or any variation of above.
Wow, that is awesome thanks Ross.

Cannot wait for this, I've been reading all the threads and just hovering around being quiet and sticking my nose in just to see if there are any new developments, but now I am getting genuinely excited. :D

Thanks for all the information you've provided thus far Ross.

Chelsea boy as well hey? :)

Lived in Ella Grove as a kid

Small world! :)

Went to Chelsea primary as a kid for a few years (year 3 -6).

Sorry, that was someone here hoping that this would be the case. No retired players are in the game in any form.

Former seagulls?

I never played with Chelsea but plenty of friends did. Lethal's old club so he used to come down to the club occasionally, which is when I'd turn up for a look :) - he was one tough nut!

Ross, a user asked about the variations of footy boots available in game, I saw Kozzy wearing white/blue ones in one of the gameplay pics..could you elaborate if you can or cannot edit them on a real player or a created one?

Thanks

That's a shame considering how good the cousins avatar was, but understandable.

In a season, do injurys occur and players miss weeks? Not just the current game they are in?

This question I have not seen answered before. I love how you have added tattoos to players that have them. Will Create A Player feature tattoos?

Yeah thats a good question also. Just some overall create a player details would be good such as:

Boots
Tattoos
Build
Attributes
Commentary Names
Numbers

Numbers is a big one I reckon.
Playing cricket on ps3 atm, but can't customise numbers so they all have 00.

I would like to be able to choose from some commentry names instead of hearing 'number 31 has the ball' cause that always annoyed me in AFL 2007

No way it will happen, Ross has already explained this. The commentators have to say each name 4 or 5 different ways. I.e Excited or disappointed. It will be Number X etc

I asked ross a few times about numbers for created players and traded players and he keeps avoiding the question so i'm curious about that as well

Thats a shame, oh well doesn't matter

This might be a stupid question because I'm sure that they've taken care of it.

But one of my gripes in AFL 2007 was when the ball went out of bounds on the full and you got the free kick. If you held it too long, the umpire would call you as being out of bounds so they'd throw it in. Will this be fixed in the new game?

(I know they've used a completely different system, just curious if it's been implemented).

On a similar note I made a player in rugby league live and put my name in and expected to hear the full back had the ball every time I got a touch but to my surprise it actually said my last name.

Which brings me to my next point if you create a player and they have the same last name as a real afl player for example if I made a player called John Franklin.

Will it be more likey to say Franklin as the name is already in the game as opposed to making someone with the last name Sanchez as there is no one in the afl with the last name Sanchez.

Or your in luck if your last name is the same as a current player, which mine and my 3best mates that will be fanatics on the game haha!!

Yeah if you share a surname then you'll get it in.
