How will the time count up(count down)

will it be 5mins counting down,.

or will it be 20 mins + time on counting down at a different speed depending on how long quarters are selected

7-8 minute quarters online would be ridiculous. You'd be signing your own grave if you were making matches last 30+ minutes, if it's a blow out then it just gives the other person more reason to quit early too.

5 seems reasonable, but 4 does as well. 4 minutes per quarter, if it works to semi-decent/realistic scores should be the default.

Hi Ross,

Just wondering what difficulty settings there will be in the game when playing against the CPU.

Easy, Medium, Hard, Insane? lol

And will we see an actual difference between difficulties because previous AFL games even on the hardest difficulty it was still easy.
 
You can alter the quarter length. The default that will ship is actually 5 minutes.

As with some of the info I have given previously, some things will vary in the final game as issues are found/fixed/altered.

Hey ross, i would like to know a bit more about taking speccies. Is there many different animations for taking these grabs eg, modra bent knee style, capper or ablett over head one hand style. And how often do they occur. Coz i remember playing AFL live 2003 and it was just so over done and easy to do, with at least 8 or so speccies every game! thats just unrealistic.
 
Ross, with what's been said about balancing teams online, is it possible to play against someone using the same team? For example, can i as the Crows, play against a mate who is also using the Crows (in different guernseys obviously) in a battle for Crow supremacy?
 
Ross, in other games I remember that if you played a game in a season of quarter length of 5 mins, the simulated games would still have quarter lengths of 20 mins. This meant your score would be something like 30 - 25, whereas the simulated games would have scores like 112 - 103.
So my question is are simulated quarter lengths in a season the same as your chosen quarter lengths.
 
Sport titles need to be harder. I played Fifa 98 endlessly as a kid, and I often played 45 minute halves, which resulted in 100+ goals. These days it's only 8 minutes, but I'm still able to win by 10+ goals fairly easily.

my Guy at EB said that there only gonna be making 20.000 copies of AFL Live to see how sales go for it and if they sell over 20.000 copies then they will look at selling more and then think about the 2nd installment?
just wandering is it true and could people miss out if they dont pre-order early and have to wait a lil longer if the 20.000 copies are sold?
or is my EB guy just talking Bollocks

That would be a bug, we don't have that issue.

It is hard, at least when you master it though you can go online and get beaten by the likes of me!*

Anyone else find it strange that there is a "competition" to win the game every thursday until release but not even had a press release/ footage/ actual release date yet.

Not complaining , actually think it is a great way in building interest to the rest of the public. It's been the talk of our cricket club for this past month this game!!!

I guess.... ever heard of a CEO getting on a forum 6+ months prior to release of a game and continually leaking stuff :p

Haha you certainly do but it's great, this game will be a huge success, I knownpeople like me that use this forum have been telling anyone and everyone about this game. I reckon there's 40 blokes at my cricket club that will Pre order and buy this game. I have showed them be pics on here, no one can believe how good it looks and how real the players look.
 
FINALLY pre-ordered my copy today. April 1st release date is what they're tellin' me :)

Ross is owed a larger avatar through the Carlton subforum but they're still in off season mode it seems and have yet to give it to him. Soooooon..
