Any info from those that visited Big Ant would be appreciated.

I know there are details you would have been asked not to disclose, but give us an overall rating, or comment on the things we already know something about eg. detail of the stadiums, flow of the game, ease of interchange...

It would be interesting to know who from bigfooty actually went to the bigant HQ and if they are allowed to say anything what they saw.

And a question for those who did go how were you selected or invited to go to the bigant HQ ?

Majority were selected last year when we were originally going to tour the site. As for selection criteria, had to be available, local, over 18 and known to be trust worthy.

This time round I couldn't make it due to a prior commitment, so Galon manged the where/when with Ross.

to be invited you had to exhibit extremely high levels of awesomeness ;)

We were shown the video, game and allowed to play the game. It is excellent. As far as revealing information though, we are bound under the same levels of confidenitiality that previous sneak peaks have been. Sorry. You can ask questions and if I can answer them I will, but there will definitely be things I will not answer

sorry if this has already been asked but I tried reading the 1500000000 posts of the multiple threads on this topic and my eyes started to bleed..

from the FAQ "Draft/Trading & Retiring/Creating New Players
There is no draft. We cannot take photos of draftees or license them before they get into the AFL."

I get the licensing issue but what was stopping a draft system that randomly generates players names and stats like in the franchise modes in NBA or MADDEN games?

Playing these modes is what I spend most of my time doing in games like NBA2k11 or fifa 11, and while I understand Big Ant is only a small company, I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement a random player generation system for multiple seasons. Perhaps this is going to be implimented in future versions?

Will be playing mostly as the tiges so you can understand the need for bringing in new tallant :D

the gameplay is sensational. The game moves and flows extremely well. It feels very intuitive to play. Having said that, it is not an "arcade" style game, as there are a lot of intricacies, and the game will take a lot of time and effort to get really good at.

The graphics are what you'd expect; ie awesome

Did you actually get hands on with the game or did you just watch as the people at Big Ant played? What can you say about the starting line ups were they accurate?

The first game was a six player affair, 3 v 3 on the Ps3... good to see the guys pick up the controls pretty easily, helps reinforce some of the decisions made. It was fun to watch :)

hands on. The starting line-ups certainly seemed highly accurate. It was a special thrill seeing the Bombers run out and slotting a goal as Hurley ;)

Ross, In multiplayer, can you lock on to one player only?
Reason I ask is, cos i'm gonna create the team I play for and my mates and I would like to play as our own characters.

this is fantastic to hear...

Alright Lance, I've got a question you'll be able to answer.

Are Sirens accurate to the grounds they represent, or is it the same Siren at each ground.

It's something that hasn't been covered but is so small that you SHOULD be able to answer ;)

what is your opinion of the set shots for goal?

were you impressed with how that part of the gameplay works?

we didn't get to play at all grounds or anything. We certainly didn't play at Blacktown with that weird hooter they have. All I can really say is it sounds like an AFL siren

all I can say is...

I can give a little on a few of these things.

The stadiums looked phenomenal. Much better than you've seen in the screenshots. In fact the first thing that I really noticed that looked significantly better than in the screenshots were the crowd, they're not out and out brilliant, but when you kick a goal they react as you'd expect and it does make it look nice. But yeah, the stadiums are realllllllllly nice.

The flow of the game was very good. Although we played 3 vs 3 and then 2 vs 2 it was still manageable (and you could definitely feel the change of flow from 3 vs 3 to 2 vs 2).

The start of the 3 vs 3 match was very...under 9's footy as LU stated while we were playing. We basically just followed the ball around as it went, but as you get into it a bit more you learn that you need to just lead the play a bit to be available to receive the handpasses, kicks, etc.

The interchange, we didn't really hands-on that one as we were too busy playing the game to care. But we were shown how it was done and although the substitution was K.Hunt on for Josh Fraser (into the ruck:eek:) it looked smooth and didn't break the gameplays flow.

So hectic as well! We really needed to properly look at what each icon was as half the time I was thinking "is this me...oh no wait I'm the blue". Once I realised who I was though it all started to click.

The best thing about the controls was easily that there was plenty of depth to them as well as still being the pick up and play aspect. Definitely has plenty of room to grow into the game, I even think that some of us were growing into it by the time we were done.
