When i first heard of the preorder bonus, I wanted the shot of Mainy leaping off the bench after the 1992 Grand Final, but it's not on the http://www.aflphotos.com.au/ site. I don't know what photo to get now.

Maybe next time they can look into a voucher for a DVD of our choice from Name-a Game? That would be an awesome bonus! :thumbsu:
The websie doesn't seem to have much more than recent photos.
Being that it's a photo, I think a website to select a pic and have that turned into the game cover would be awesome.

I know alot has been said about the commentary but what about the actual sound. Is the crowd noise better than other AFL games? Is it just the one standard cheer when a goal goes through or are there various? E.g. Crowd riding goals when kicking on the run? In Pro evo if you are two or three goals down the crowd isn't that excited if you put a consolation goal through. When you equalise or take the lead they get really excited and start roaring. Just asking Thanks :)

Heres my dedication, walked down to the bus stop.......2 mins later it started pissing down rain and I had to wait 37 minutes for the next bus......no go! Haha but I have already played this once and Ill wait 3 weeks for it to be in my room so I wont have to go anywhere and wait in line to play it!

There's no line here at EB :)

snuck down from work with a mate to check it out.

got owned by as we played on the same team (as The Big V) against the doggies, although added respectability with a few late ones..

watched a couple of games and then played 2 v 2 (Hawks vs. Dons) and then finished with 2 v 2 (Saints vs Cats) with Rooey featuring highly in a good win for saints.

again it continued to build the excitement for the release

**** i love this game

hahaha - quote from my mate:

Clinty Young goes bang from 60!!!!

Clive Peters goal of the day.

Had a look on my lunch break and was very impressed. Played game 1 Sydney v North at the SCG while struggling to learn the controls and then had a go as Carlton v Richmond at the MCG. Started to get the hang of it and had some great plays and goals. Once I got a hang of the ruck it was a lot easier. As a lot of people have said, handballing really is your friend! You won't get far just running and bombing it long.

Being an Xbox 360 player, the hardest thing was probably the PS3 controller (having not used one for a while)!

It was very fun and the crowd was building when I left (maybe 20 people on 2 consoles) so I'll have to give it another go at Southland on the weekend! Can't wait now for it to come out.

I also noticed someone was filming with an actual video camera so expect some more high quality videos posted later!

Went down for a quick look but there was a fair few people there so I didn't wait around to play.

The play was scrappy, due to the inexperience of the players.
Potential to be a really good game once you get the hang of it.

Someone posted a fan video of afl on the tru blu facebook:

"Pete Rollings Hey check out My fan made afl video www.vimeo.com/21420092"

Just got back from EB and I've just gotta say ... I LOVE IT!

This game is so freaking unbelievably good!!!

I managed to kick 4 goals in about 2 minutes (with North!) ... Andy gave me this look like "WTF".

Co-op is so much fun. Me and this other dude were absolutely killing it with awesome teamwork.

Huuuuggge thanks to BigAnt. I was so pleased with the game (and my awesome skills) that I just wanted to give Ross and Andy hugs as I was leaving. :D

I went down earlier today to check it out and was pleased with it. A lot of the wow factor was gone from the fact that I've been looking at these threads for so long but it was still great to actually try it out for myself.

I had a fair bit of trouble getting around the controls but a lot of that is just due to a crap short term memory and some poor judgement during play.
Thankfully I wasn't the only one who messed up the ruck contests at first because a lot of ball ups just went straight to the ground without a touch but I once you get used to it, it's pretty straight forward and very satisfying. The contest in the centre square was pretty good, it wasn't filled with loads of players but it wasn't so open that you could just run past everyone and kick it straight to your full forward.

There's not a lot I can say that hasn't been said about the game but overall I feel that the game is a lot more logical than the IR Gurus games and plays like a refined, smoother version of AFL 99, but it still has enough new elements to have its own feel to it.

Due to instinct I did try some things that I use in AFL 2005 like running straight through a pack or trying to take a mark from behind. Thankfully I didn't get away with them. I struggled a lot with goalkicking but I started to get the hang of it late in my last game although my banana kicks were terrible, though I'm sure when I get it I'll start paying more attention to the kicking metres and it shouldn't be problem.

The graphics were a lot better than they looked in the trailer and the pictures, probably because the camera is more zoomed out but the players still look noticeable and it looks very nice. The crowd may have been cardboard cut outs but they still looked great and the camera doesn't zoom right in on them like the old games so you can't really tell they're flat.

I could hear a bit of the commentary and just the sound of Cometti was a bit unnerving (the only call I could hear him say clearly was "Bulldogs, take possession" and it took me straight back to AFL Premiership 2005). I'm hoping that won't be too much of a problem but if it is I can always just turn him off and play some music.

I'd go a bit deeper into the gameplay side but I don't really want to judge it yet as I was playing so badly but I think that's enough for first impressions anyway.

LOL I think it was me you were pantsing - was playing as Carlton when North (YOU!) started flogging us.

The worst part is I felt like I was getting the hang of the controls - but I sucked! Which is odd because I've played the previous titles to death. I got a couple of goals though before you started playing so I don't feel to bad. Definitely need to do my homework though.

On the game itself, nothing new to add other than it looks like we have our first 'real' AFL game. The camera pulls back further and you really get a sense for what is going on around the field - the bomb it long stuff from previous titles should be a thing of the past. And critically you feel like you have more control on what's going on - praise be.

Want to add that Ross was awesome and gladly chatted about the history of the game and answered all questions. You're a top bloke Ross and I wish you every success! Also kudos to Andy who was very open and friendly and great to talk to too.

To Ross or anyone who has seen or played the game.

I noticed from the screenshots we have seen of the game that the ball always has the panasonic sponsor on the ball from the 2010 finals series similar to the previous afl games which always had afl.com.au on the ball.

Anyway my question is will teams have their ball sponsors on the ball.

Like these for example:

Team- ball sponsor

Geelong-nib
St Kilda-st George bank
Essendon-yakult ( not sure if it is still yakult)

Just to name a few.

That was truly an amazing goal, tight on the boundary and smashed it home. Was very snazzy.

BTW guys I have the trophy list on video...but won't be able to upload for an hour or so.:( If anyone is truly desperate I can write it out.:p
