Ok I've asked twice to absolutely zero response but this is getting really really frustrating. Why is it that my human opponents always have numbers around the ball/overlap/can mark the ball/can tackle me yet when I get the ball I get pretty much immediately tackled? If I get told that I just have to learn how to play that'll be frustrating because if you can only control one player at once it's clearly not my opponent controlling the overlap and run.

There's obviously no science in it but I'm at the point of not even bothering to play online because every game I play is sooo one sided.

On top of this, hitouts. I hit it long, and my opponents run on to it and clear it. My opponents hit it long, my players run on to it and are immediately tackled. If I hit it sideways, it'll land in my opponent's wingers hands almost every time while my winger is behind and my rover just sits in front watching.

And Finally, I tell my backmen to play in front and they're CONSISTENTLY caught behind. ARGHGHG so annoyed. Ok venting over.

I wish I could help you, hard to know without actually seeing you play.

At least when the patch is live you will be matched with those with similar XP.

PS: I worked for both the Redskins and (LA) Raiders writing live predictive game analysis software - I wouldn't want to be caught anywhere near either of their stadiums after dark.
 
So, fair to say I'm master at this game. Continued my undefeated streak by beating this bloke who was Freo and I was the Eagles :eek:. Got the big ant badge for it which is good.

Is there a way to see what badges you have?

You can check the badges out your own badges in game and compare them to others at the same time. Go through the leaderboard.

Try out AntonyAtBigAnt - he's pretty well the best online so far, although someone got close to him the other night as he only won against GC as Carlton by 3 points... his timing is coming - I can feel it :)

Good game with the put downs back and forth, i thought it was cool/funny. Lots of touche's.

Seriously, sorry for veering the thread off-topic, I'll let it get back on topic. Look for me on PSN this weekend, I'll be ready to play some games against all-comers. I never quit/rage-quit either to anyone worried. **** those kind of people.

Sounds like a very cool job you had with both NFL franchises. Did you ever get to meet Al Davis? I think both Coliseums the Raiders played at is by far worse, day or night. Washington is a pretty dangerous city too (what city isnt lol), but sounds like a great experience, feel free to visit the NFL board and chat with everyone there about NFL. You'll love that board during the thick of the season being played.

OFFTOPIC: Worked at 16 of the then 28 NFL clubs from around 1990-1995, pretty much lived at Notre Dame in South Bend and three rivers stadium in Pitsburgh (it no longer exists-got blown up :) ). It was a great time, we had predictive analysis software that gave the list of the most likely three plays the opposition would run with 90% accuracy in real time while the game was in progress. Never had dealings with Al, funniest thing was watching the raiders turn up to Buffalo (another team that was a client) for playoff games and watch the LA guys freeze their asses off - they'd lost before it even began!

Not as well as Antony :)

I just haven't had the time - I did lose to "Cat".

was this your own software you developed? is this how you worked your way up to where you are today?
you should PM Smiths about a certain online madden league, if you're interested in joining, that kind of analysis would serve you well against the guns there.
that day wasnt funny at all, what was it 41-7 or something, i blame the high-powered bills offense, that team of the nineties one of the best ever to make 4 bowls in a row.
see, cos we can play in cold/snow....we had the pats done before the cheating NFL tuck-rule.

yeah wish i had some more time to play online. Im always willing to play the bests lets you compare how good you are and sometimes a good beating is a great way to learn... not that Ive ever had anyone smash me. Only played 40 or so games but ranked in the 70s so im pretty happy atm
 
Can't figure out why the Legend AI has 4-5 free men ALL the time :mad:

I've been in games in some form since the late 70's, some just happen to have been real world.

Well the Bills had our software so of course they were good (we had the 49's as clients too) :) - I was there at the game in Buffalo, then for the Superbowl after where Dallas (not one of our teams) killed them, MJackson did the halftime show.
