First of all, who's the bastard online just before (playing as the Bulldogs) who couldn't handle my fast-finishing Cats kicking 5 or 6 in a row? Rage-quitters piss me off royally.

Secondly, there was a bit of a glitch in aforementioned game. I kicked one from about 60 out with Jimmy and it trickled over the line for a goal, but for some reason the Bulldogs had to kick it out. I was rewarded the goal and if I remember correctly, the behind as well.

Lastly, are you only kidding about the socks, Ross?

Nope, not really, we're just lazing around doing nothing :D

Kind of looks like you Ross :p

Will be online in an hour or two if anyone wants a few games (Ross or Antony included ;))

Regarding the PC version. Will it have more features than the PS3/Xbox version, or be exactly the same?

Will include the patch :)

I thought that may be the case :p.

I doubt Ross will tell us if they were going to add features anyway now that i think about it, which would be fair enough IMO.

That said, I would be surprised if it were the same, as there isn't much reason to develop the game then just leave it alone for 6 months. I guess BAS have other things to do, but I'd still be slightly surprised.

Why would it be any different?

Why would it be any different?

Why would a sequal released a year from now be any different?

Maybe there is no incentive to change the game, but I was just thinking that given they are releasing it months later they might add some things. Probably wrong but ehh.

Just a few things.

I think that big ant should just make it if you quit online you should just get awarded a loss.

What is all this stuff about sock-tech and sleeve tech and stuff??

You can check the Online ID of whoever you're playing online at the last scoreboard screen (where your XP shows up).

If they've delayed the game due to piracy there isn't exactly going to be incentive to put more work into the PC title if that won't be rewarded anyway.

The hard thing with the quitting online is that there's no discernible difference between who has quit and who has lost connection.

The 3 goal margin and random time is very fair for anyone.

The sock tech is that in the next title you will be able to have players socks down instead of them always being up (or 1 sock up and 1 sock down).

On a 12 game winning streak starting from last night. Guarantee you I will get a 3 person team or some bullshit before i hit 15.

Yeah, is this sock-tech talk just rubbish? If so, I don't think it's something to laugh about. The option should have been in the game in the first place. I'm being serious. For a game as bare bones as this, there should have been minor things like the option to edit players sleeves, socks, appearance.

I think the next game should focus on having a tv style presentation. I think the whole idea of playing a sports game is you want to be immersed into it and feel like you're sitting there watching it on tv. This game just doesn't immerse me the way 2K11 does. Don't tell me about the budget, surely it wouldn't cost that much to add in some close ups of players with stats as they line up for a set shot, even if it's just the AI's goals, even if they give you the option to skip it. Or as they walk off the field for half time. Something.

It's been stressed that the idea of this game was to have it free flowing, with no camera changes or replays. But it's far from free flowing, there are too many tackles (even for someone like me who has mastered the game). There just doesn't seem to be enough space to move.

But all in all. Is this sock talk real?

A zoomed in camera is unplayable as so many options would be off screen.

In any case I can hardley bear watching the real game on TV - so many zoomed in cameo shots, I know what the players look like(!) - show me the options they had or why they did what they did.

Just had my best game ever, and finally got my big and badge, StankyTime, i hope you post here man you are the best person ive played.

(North vs the Dogs I came back from a 50+ point deficit to win by 2 points, thanks to milking some clock, amazing)

I need some big time help with the game..

Amateur-Veteran difficulties are too easy and I win games by 100+ without a problem.. so then I decide to play on Legend and I become the one losing by large margins. I can't Mark the ball in contested situations on Legend which really sucks.. I'm extremely frustrated when I play because I can't have a close or good game. How do you win marking contests? I wait until the circle is small and I think the ball is about to drop but never win. It doesn't feel like you can control your player in contested situations either, they just run to a certain spot or hold there ground and spoil/mark, how can I just run in front of my opponent and take the mark like they do to me? argh

I'm not saying a zoomed in camera the whole time. But some close ups at quarter time breaks, or after goals, or even as they set up for the goal. Just to make it seem like a broadcasted game.

Didn't answer my sock talk question. Lol.

Yeah, it would give it a nice touch.

i thinks also something at half time maybe the way to go like 7 plays in 7 days or something like that, just like 2k11

I can agree with some occasional close shots, but obviously never during the game. Maybe during highlights (although if there's a proper in-menu replay option then I wouldn't even bother with going for closer ups). With how good the players can look closer up it'd be nice to actually see them more.

Personally I think the default camera is still the best, I've only barely switched it just to check out what the others look like (and none really work for me). The only thing I'd probably now agree with is MM and asking about the behind the back option in general play after a mark.

And I ask that it ONLY be an option, say pushing triangle (as this doesn't do anything when you have taken a mark does it?) to switch it to a downfield view. I wouldn't want to use this all the time, just maybe when I can't spot an option first up and then switch and see something I couldn't on the radar or whatever.

Try kicking in front of your target more, dropping the pass shorter will lead your man to the ball and allow for generally easier marks. If you're just bombing long to a standing 1 on 1 then of course you're not going to be a big chance of taking the mark (as it happens in real life).

The whole contesting in marks will come with the patch so you can bump your opposition off.
and what is the sock-tech thing??
Are you serious? Not only did I already respond to you but it's been mentioned about 20 times already!

There's a contradiction if I ever saw one.

I like the NBA2k11 style of camera cuts and half time reports etc. but Ross and his team have chosen a different direction, instead aiming for a fast, free flowing (which it very much is when you master it ;)) simulation of the real thing. I think it works quite well, though I wouldn't mind some stats popping up on screen before a set shot and other little presentation type things in future versions.

There are too many tackles though. I think people are being a little too defensive of the game if they think there aren't. There are far less for people who are better at the game, but there are still way too many.

EDIT: Also, I'm winning games on legend by 80 or so points and winning a lot online (well, it would be winning if people didn't quit before the final siren). So I have mastered the game, I do play a pretty free flowing game, it's just that there are too many tackles anyway.
