As I said the other day, I played online with a mate last week and had a ball. It's pretty fun for everyone to play 2v1 when one of the two isn't that familiar with the game, and you don't exploit anything like bumping, stoppages, etc..

We had close, fun games, and I reckon our opponent enjoyed the games as well.

Totally agree mate. Have had a few good games recently like that where it's 1v2 or 1v3. There's normally one or two guys on their team who haven't played much and so they can be a bit of a detriment to the team, which evens out the numbers advantage.

But when it's 3v1 with a custom team and non-stop bumping..............................................

Yeah.....then it's terrible....
Would love to have a 4v4 game with honest, skillful players. It'd be mayhem!

Hi BigAnt, Ive just started really getting into playing this game again now that the season is here. Have updated the rosters and everything, but just got a few questions. These might have been covered in the thousands of pages here already....

1. How does form effect the players? Does it temporarily lower their ratings? (i.e player with band form suffers a % rating hit?)

2. Do non human controlled teams suffer injuries when your not playing them/they play each other?

3. Do players gain or lose skill points over the course over the season (i.e will a rookie player gain skill and will an ageing player lose skill points?)

Thanks

I can answer these.

1. Form means nothing and has no affect on player stats and performance.

2. During a full length season you can view other players stats from the menu and can see the injury symbol next to the opposition players. I have seen them before, but wasn't sure if they only came about from when I played against them from previous weeks. Surely it would be fair for injuries to occur in a CPU vs CPU match.

3. Stats remain the same for the entire season. The only thing that will change is a players rating on where they are selected to play.
Im not quite sure on the exact numbers and the way it works but if you took a forward pocket player like Ballantyne and played him in the ruck position his overall rating will drop, but doesn't mean he will play like that. A good ruckman may have a ruck tap stat of 78 and Ballantyne could be 32. Doesn't mean to say he can't win a ruck tap, just the opposition has the better chance.
(correct me if I'm wrong Ross)

im pretty sure BigAnt said there will be a new AFL 2012 game, but just wondering if it was close to being released?

Someone asked if anyone knew whether there would be a new game in 2012 and I answered "yes :p" - as in I do know - but I cannot divulge anything, it's up to HES/Tru Blu to announce.

Thanks BigAnt, thats totally understandable.

Im just super pumped for the new game! are you able to hint what new features may be included? or give us any clues on what to expect? i can't wait!

Call me an optimist but I just can't see our 'main man' for info using a smiley to describe a title coming out in 12 to 18 months time.

The part that is interesting is around timing any console/PC release vs. there being a release for the Vita - I doubt Tru Blue would want to release all versions at the same time, sales would surely cannabilize against the Vita. Wait and see I guess.

Guilty as charged.... just bored waiting for the bounce tonight, can't wait!!

I might actually watch it tonight... Having to wait till sunday is brutal!

Hopefully Nahas and Vickery have blinders to entertain me, as I get the feeling it could be quite one sided.

Thanks mate. :thumbsu:

Ross, can you please confirm this? I did shell out lots of $$$ for the game

Ross, could you at least tell us something? Just a bit? Such as release date? Or at least one new feature or a feature that has been improved?
