Big Ant still punching according to Ross. I imagine if / when Tru Blu release some screen grabs of their next games a lot of the talk will go away. Not holding my breath on this one though - doesn't appear to be Tru blu policy.

Meanwhile, at Tru Blu's headquarters:

Tru Blu are a bad publisher when it comes to fan interaction. If there is a new AFL game coming out chances are we're not going to hear anything about it until like a week before release.

I actually thought they were very very very good when AFL live came out actually.

They organised several events to you could play the game at EB, The facebook groups and the interaction was fantastic on here as well.

In all honesty I think they must be getting close to a final product though now especially as they have started taking photos of all the players.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm fairly certain that the public displays of the game were entirely Big Ant's initiative. Ross personally attended several sessions, along with several members of the development team; I don't ever recall one Tru Blu person being involved.

The best thing that Tru Blu did to AFL Live was allow Ross to disclose what he did on here during the development process. Had it not been for that, we probably would not have known anything until the month before release, which is when Tru Blu actually started doing something. But this time they've taken their ineptness to a new level by not only failing to promote the title as a "coming soon", but also almost completely gagging Big Ant.

AAA titles are teased YEARS in advance; even though this is a title made by a small studio, Tru Blu has done nothing, presumably anywhere between 1 and 12 months before release (note the lack of release date is further evidence of their incapability to do their job). This goes beyond me being frustrated about being kept in the dark, and now really has to make you wonder how they have survived in the publishing business for as long as they have.

Agree 100%
Assassins Creed 4 was just hinted like 9 months in advance and we can't even get any info on the AFL's next big title.

I know we all want to know as much as possible, but would announcing the title a month before release honestly make that much difference? You'll still get it on the same day, but instead of a long drawn out "Why can't the next 6 months be over" process, you only have to wait a month. Announcing a title close to its release date hardly makes Tru Blu inept. Personally i couldn't care less as long as it's being made.

From my perspective, as a consumer, I'm indifferent to this. On one hand, you're right about the downside of a long, drawn-out wait, but on the other, we also have the assurance that it's coming, rather than purely speculation. But that's not why Tru Blu are inept.

They're inept because their job is to fund projects that have the greatest potential for profit. One of the most important aspects of a successful project is the marketing; making sure as many people know about it and want it as possible. As I've mentioned previously, they have completely failed to do that in any conceivable form, and even went further by preventing Ross from dropping any kind of information whatsoever. It is in that regard that Tru Blu would appear to be an incapable publisher. If not for the fact that they're one of the only Australian publishers, and that AFL Live and RLL (moreso for AFL) would almost certainly have not been picked up by an international publisher, I'd suspect that they would be completely unheard of by and of us and maybe even defunct.

Hey guys, i'm looking for anyone to face online if your interested invite me. No custom teams, the only exception is if you update the list. for example Lake>Hawthorn, Caddy>Geelong or Lynch>Collingwood

i have very little experience of the making of video games. Does a photo shoot of all the players mean that there nearly done or that there just starting?

Nearly done i guess, they'd have all the game mechanics and models done. The player faces are finishing touches i'd believe.

How do you change a players primary position?
For example, Jake king is a back pocket in the game, but i obviously want him to be a forward pocket

I'm fairly certain that you cannot change a player's position, which is frustrating, and it prevents the game from being "too customisable". It's understandable because if you could completely edit a team to make it exactly like it is the following season, the marketability of the next version is impaired to a decent extent.

Having said that, if a player is proficient in multiple positions, you'll notice that when you change it up, their overall rating will only decrease slightly. For example, a player like Goddard experiences almost not drop in his rating when put in the backline, midfield, or forwardline, whereas someone like Rance would suffer a decent reduction if put in the midfield or forwardline. Try moving King to the forward pocket and see what happens to the rating; if it doesn't drop by much (or even increases) then you have nothing to worry about. And, even if it does decrease, it doesn't really matter - the overall is more of a "recommendation" as opposed to the player actually getting better or worse.

Dear BigAntStudios
Please make the Legend Difficulty harder in AFL Live 2. Or even an 'Extreme Legend' Mode.

Sincerely, all Seasoned AFL Live players and the Hawthorn Footy Club (Seriously, i would have smashed these guys if it weren't for some errant goalkicking on the run)

Thats in a Collingwood team with Goldsack at HFF (Goldy has HB stats in this game) , No Didak, No Beams, No Ball. I was trying to replicate how many outs we have now and we smashed the hawks.

I demand a higher difficulty level.

Does anyone else have a lot of trouble finding players to play online? I'm always searching for a good 15 minutes before one pops up

What platform? PC is virtually dead. Not sure about the other platforms.
