More realism in general and the ability to continue career mode for seasons and to have drafts. Also just to have harder difficulties as the opposition seem to be really easy to beat by 60-100 points in all the difficulties except for Legendary which I find impossible except for when I cheat by modding all other teams to have crappy stats. Also online which many people with custom teams seem to be cheating.
You want it harder even though you can't win on legend?

Difficulty needs to be restructured as mentioned above, the game also needs long sleeved jumpers option int Create a player :).

If you create a custom team it shouldn't stay blank when the commentators are talking about your team for example: .... is leading by 13 points. It should say home team is leading by 13 points or away team is leading by 13 points, depending on whos home it is. It would be better than leaving it blank. It would also be good if you could choose your own captain and also, choose your own coach eventhough it wouldn't matter because they wouldn't do anything it would still be good. Also you should get to choose team custom colours as said somewhere else and also you should get to make your own footy ground customed to your design if you want. Thanks for listening.

One thing I would love is a Be-a-pro mode, how awesome would it be to put this in as well as a 10-year career mode and have your custom player work from the TAC-Cup all the way to being an AFL Legend, with contract negotiations and all. Also in multiplayer have each player be able to control 1 player each in a 22 vs 22 game, (I know we'd need to get the numbers up in this game to do this.)
And one more thing, Premiership Coach is now discontinued, BigAnt should implement a coaching sim into AFL Live.
That's all I can think of... for now.

afl live needs a theater mode like call of duty so u can see your recent games and make a highlight reel.
e.g. i would like to see the good goals if kicked and make an ablett highlights reel because he owns when im gold coast. anyone agree.

W.I.P Post :) still Franchise, Presentation and Menu and Editing to come :)

Career Mode/Be A Pro Mode
So start off your way in the TAC Cup (etc), as each game you play your draft stock increases and decreases, and push to play for your state in the u/18’s national championships (this would also affect your draft stock more so than a TAC Cup game) . After your performances you should be based in a mock draft to see most likely where you will get drafted at what number and which team. In this it should also list your strengths and weaknesses (goal kicking, disposal effectiveness, tackling) and also during this it will give you a rating of your player averaging from a 50 - 65. After that you should be trialled in your teams first 2 NAB Cup games. Then depending on your performances then should depend on what your position in the team is (Reserves, Fringe, Starter, Star). You are given a rookie contract (mostly should be the same for every team about 1 – 2 years) through every game, XP should be given depending on number of disposals, tackles, goals this can be used to purchase upgrades to upgrading skills. When in the side, wether as the sub or in starting line-up, your time should be limited to what the coaches think and your rating. You should be able to sim or fast forward through to when you go back onto the field, or have the option of controlling the rest of your team. If injured, you should be able to be given the option of playing through the injury (depending on it) which will affect your stats or rest and sim until you are able to come back. You should be able to sim past games, so you don’t have to play all of them , so simming to a certain point or for the rest of the season. You should be able to gain XP through the games you sim, but it will be significantly less than if you actually play, and that should also depend on your rating and also vary, so if you have a 99 overall you still shouldn’t play a great game every week but most of the time about a 85 – 90%. Through more time at the club and great play, you should be eligible to go up for the captaincy or vice-captaincy (the minimum about 3 – 4 years and also you should be only to grab it at the start of the year). A big part of this would be if you were to receive an award at the end of the year. So say if your player wins the Brownlow, there should be a 1 – 3 minute presentation of your player being announced as the winner with the final tally of votes coming up, and your player walking up to the person hosting the Brownlow (Andy Demmy or Leigh Matthews maybe), and then shaking their hand then fading away back to the menu. Another big push should be progress in to the AFL Hall of Fame as a Legend Status, your player should be set career goals (about 15 – 20) and should have to complete a number such as 10. These should be dependent on your position so if you’re a forward things like kick # number of goals in a game 15 times? Brownlow votes should be parts of this such as receive # of Brownlow votes in your career. Or receive # of Brownlow votes in a career. Also getting selected into an All-Australian Team, like be selected into # of times into the All-Australian Team.

W.I.P Post :) still Franchise, Presentation and Menu and Editing to come :)

One problem that I thinks needs addressing is the set shot goal kicking controls. At the moment it is far to easy to to kick set shot goals anywhere inside the 50m arc and the controls are to simplistic. This is my idea for new set shot controls:

1. Tweak left and right on the left analog stick to point your player in the direction you want the ball to travel ( Take into account wind, and natural fade ect).
2. Slowly push the left analog stick forward for player to commence run up (Harder you push it faster player runs in).
3. As the player is running into the man on the mark, the right analog stick needs to be pulled back and then pushed all the way forward in one fluid motion for player to kick the ball (Much like doing an ollie in SKATE). If this action is not done in a perfect up and down linear motion the ball with fade in the air or come off the side of the boot.

This style of controls would also work really well when players are attempting a banana from the boundary line. The right analog stick could be flicked around in a semi-circle action from bottom to top, this would get the ball to curl. (Much like doing a kick flip in SKATE :D )

This would make set shot goal kicking more about timing and technique and waaayyyyyyy more exciting!!! Sorry to anyone that can't understand my SKATE analogies, couldn't think of a better way to explain it.

Player direction and momentum need to be treated better. If you spam the tackle button your player leaps onto the ball carrier even if he is in a poor position to tackle. A system to make this harder would generate more free flowing games

Also statistics. Please god statistics

This years game was awesome but the next should be better.

1 - More than 2 songs

2 - A Career Mode - You create a player and get drafted into a club, your player is bad at first but with every game/kick/handball he gets better faster and stronger as a football player (Attributes increase) or you get points on how many disposals you get eg, 20 disposals = 20 attribute points to add to your player. This does not end after 1 season, it is continuous until your player retires. You can win Brownlow medals and Coleman medals etc with mini shows showing you winning this.

3 - Coach Mode - You are a coach of a club and your team starts really bad like a rating of 20/100 you are made coach of this team and you have a weekly schedule which you use as you wish whether it be for training your players skills, making them more fit or a rest day. You choose the lineup for each week and before each game should be like a AFL Teams add saying who you choose and people tips. You can watch your team play or simulate to see who wins. each training session they get better and each game also. But you cant just train them 5 days a week because then they will be tired for games etc; You keep coaching even if you make your team good enough to win a Grand Final and continue until you retire.

4 - Online mode is good needs to stay.

5 - Challenge Mode - Puts you in a close game which you need to win or a smashing which you need to come back from and steal the victory.

6 - Mini Games - Around the world, Handball Challenge etc;

7 - Season Mode - Same as the one that currently is in AFL Game you choose a team and try to go as far as possible.

MY IDEAS AND TBH THIS AFL GAME WOULD BE THE BEST EVER! BIG ANT MAKE THIS GAME^

Career mode, number 2 that you mentioned, is a really really good idea. I've always wanted that in an AFL game. However, you should maybe make this same post in the sticked AFL thread. :)

Career and Be a Pro Mode:
A mode where you can do multiple seasons with any club of your choice with trading, drafting, etc. Would be great. Also, a Be a Pro mode where you can start of as an unknown footballer and work your way up into hall of fame status would be fantastic.

AI Bumping and Sheperding For You:
It would be great and it would improve the game if you're teammates would lay shepherds and bump the opposition for you.

Instant Replay:
Not a must but would be good to look at those miraculous goals.

Realistic Crowds:
There should be a full house and plenty of noise for an Anzac Day between the Pies and the Bombers whereas, in a Port vs North game there should be a small crowd that's not as noisy.

Bigger Salary Cap for Created Teams:
A bigger salary cap for created teams is simple but would be great.

More Customization When Creating Guernsey:
Another minor one but more customization when creating a guernsey for your created team wouldn't be bad.

Mini Games:
Longest kick, handball target, challenge shots at goal would add more depth to the game and would be a nice addition.

Evasive Moves and Realistic Speeds:
Patrick Dangerfield should not be able to be chased down by Will Minson. Also, players should be able to shimmy, sell the dummy, dodge and weave to get past players and get those wonderful goals to win the game with seconds on the clock. This one is pretty big for me as I think it would make the game much more fun.

Better Graphics:
Better graphics isn't too big for me but I wouldn't complain if it was improved.

This is a big list but the game would be amazing if these were added in IMO.

Also, player development is needed. Scenario mode would be great especially with all the modes I mentioned previously IMO. Lastly, set shots are too easy and maybe making it more difficult would be useful.

Has there been any confirmation of a new game? I saw that a GOTY edition was released along with 2012 squads but without rollover seasons and a draft in Season Mode I really haven't played the game all that mich since I bought it.

No need to worry about sockgate mkII if the RLL2 player creator is anything to go by. :p

LOVE the update.... now time for my NEW wishlist..... LOL

1. Better server for online play
===== Playing from the US and experience MAJOR lag

2. Complete stats
=== For both season and online single matches (even if add-on)

3. Changing Tactics on the Fly
=== Have it where you can change defensive positions, tagging, by not having to go to menu

4. Speed of players
=== It seems I never have room to breathe when I have the ball online, while my opponents seems to have a 10m force field around them. (any help here would be helpful)

Thanks

It's probably getting pretty late in the development cycle to implement something like this, but i'd love an autofill team option. Often i feel like creating a custom team and filling it with randoms (or even just rounding out the list i have with randoms in order to get the 40, sometimes you just want to get a game started once you have your 22). Just something to randomly create a host of players to fill out a team, for those times when you just need players and can't be arsed going through the creation process over and over.

My wish list for the next AFL Live game:

The obvious ones already mentioned (Career mode, better atmosphere, my player mode, trades/drafting etc, grounds actually sizes e.g. subi long and thin, mcg almost perfectly round, scg short etc, and more state/local/country league grounds or even generic country/local type grounds.)

1. Custom jumper designs are pre-set patterns only but we have the option to choose what part of the jumper is which colour and same with the socks also we choose the colour of our shorts, we choose 3 different designs for our created team, a home, away and clash jumper option (those who do not want an away or clash can make all 3 jumpers the same design if they choose to), also numbers on the back, give us the option of 2 colours for numbers i.e. all numbers have an outline and we choose the solid colour and the outline colour, if you don't want an outline, choose the outline colour the same colour as the back of your jumper for thin numbers or the same colour as the solid number for a bolder number.

2. With custom season mode give us more options for our finals set up, e.g. the current top 4 sudden death option, as well as the old 3 week style final for, a top 5, and top 6 option as have previously been done in the AFL and still use by same state/local comps and give us both versions of the top 8 finals the AFL have used as well as a sudden death top 8.

3. The option to name our custom league as well as custom trophies to be won through the custom season, e.g. Leading Goalkicker, player judged best and fairest, b.o.g of the grand final and the premiership cup itself.

4. Random sponsors logos (maybe give us Big Ant and Tru Blu lol) and league logos (e.g. AFL, VFL, etc.) to place onto our custom teams should we want to place into a real league instead of a fantasy league, just adds more realism.

5. The option to select a back-up ruckman to the starting ruckman as well as setting the amount of time each ruckman will spend in the ruck and how long they will spend in the other position selected, e.g. Nic Nat starting ruckman, Dean Cox starting Forward Pocket, select Nic Nat for 65% ruck duty and Dean Cox 45% of the ruck duty and they will randomly rotate automatically.

6. The option for long sleeves.

7. More heritage jumpers for the established clubs.

8. When doing a custom season where each team plays each other twice, have it so the home team for the first encounter is the visiting team for the second encounter and instead of having a straight reverse of the fixture for the second time around go back to round 1 and start all over again, e.g. currently one of my custom seasons has West Coast v Essendon @ Patersons Stadium in round 17 (18 team comp) then in round 18, again, West Coast v Essendon @ Patersons Stadium, the second meeting of these 2 teams considering the first was west coast's home game, should be played at Etihad and it should be the final round as they had both played every other team for the first time.

Other than that I'm sure the rest of what I'd to see has been covered by other posters.

The major thing I would want implemented into the next AFL Live is a My Player mode that is basically a clone of the NBA 2K series My Player mode. The My Player mode could see you start of in the Under 18 comp of whatever state your from and from there you could play each team once and have maybe a top 4 finals series. If you play really well you could be selected to your state team which boosts your draft consideration. After your season at U/18 level you nominate for the draft and if you have played well enough you can be selected in the draft. However if you play poorly you can slip through to the rookie draft or not be drafted at all. If you don't get drafted you would end up at a VFL, WAFL, SANFL etc. team and play out a full season with them and nominate for the draft until you finally are picked up. Once at AFL level you will get the entire NAB Cup to show off what you have to your coaches and if you play well enough they will pick you to play round 1. If you don't impress enough to make the team or have been drafted to a team that is hard to crack into (E.g the reigning premiers) you play for the teams state affiliate until good performance or injury allows you to make your debut. The coach would set you specific goals when you are brought into the side like kick 2 goals if you're a forward, keep your opponent to one goal if you're a defender or get 7 disposals playing as the sub. These goals would give you Exp. to upgrade your player but are much more important when you are just cracking into the side as completing them would keep you in the side and if you aren't getting a kick and not doing what the coach asks of you, you can be dropped. Obviously there would be drills that can be completed to improve your player, but I'd like to see the ability for players to get injured at training as well as in a game.

As you become more well known you can accept offers to appear on different programs like The Footy Show and Gameday to boost your popularity and what opposition players think of you. Once you come out of contract other teams could go after you if they have a need for your type of player or your own team could use you as trade bait if you aren't living up to expectations or if they can use you to get a much better player. I'd like to also see a very basic presentation of awards nights like the Rising Star, Brownlow, All-Australian if you are attending and see how your player reacts to being selected/winning or being left out. There should also be a Hall of Fame goal like in the 2K series where you need to complete 10 career goals to be a Hall of Famer. some of these goals could apply to every type of player e.g Win a premiership, win the Brownlow, get selected to the All-Australian team X amount of times but there would also be position specific goals with winning the Coleman X amount of times for a forward, get X amount of disposals X amount of times for midfielders and keep a forward goaless X amount of times for defenders. Finally, players careers can be hampered by chronic injuries and you can choose between trying to play on or retiring. Your career could also end at a certain age depending on what position you are e.g Midfielders usually play longer than forwards, backmen.

I'd also like to see a 10-year career mode that is basically the same as the season mode in the current AFL Live, but runs for 10 years and has the whole mangement side with drafting random youngsters, trading, delisting, managing injuries.

Other general things I would like to see is analog sticks used for goal kicking, again similar to the 2K series. I'd like it to be something along the lines of using the left stick to control the run up while the right stick is flicked upwards to initiate the ball drop/kick. Timing the ball drop with the run up should be crucial and the straighter the right analog stick flick is the straighter the kick would go.

On the presentation side of things I would like the commentators to mention injuries more and actually acknowledge that the sub has been activated. I would also want to see an option to have a replay played every time a forward takes a mark in the 50 and you enter the goal kicking view. At the moment only diving marks/Specky's are given a replay but I would like to see all kicks to forward targets replayed to give the game more of a TV feel.
