AFL LIVE PASS - WHAT A JOKE!

Realising watchafl is really chewing through my monthly data and the comments about the app (which I used to have) aren't encouraging..... This is most certainly a disappointing situation.

Exact issue I'm having.

From what I have gathered from reading Telstra Crowd Support this afternoon, if you redeem the free offer on one device, it won't necessarily let you access the Live Pass on other devices or through the AFL website.

Did you find a fix for this Damon_3388 ? I have Foxtel Go so it isn't the end of the world, but I'd like access to replays.

I just want to be able to watch match replays here in Aus but every time I try to get an AFL Pass it diverts me to the site where you have to be outside of Australia to watch.

Is there a fix for this?

So a question.......

Does AFL Live stream only on mobile devices with the AFL Live app, or can I stream on my pc (assuming AFL Live doesn't shit a brick that is)?

Apparently Fox Footy is now in HD for Foxtel Play. However, it's only available on Telstra TV. Rumor has it though, PS4/Xbox are soon to have Fox Play in HD.

$44 a month for ~30 of the good channels (including all the sports channels) . No lock in contract as well is great value as well as multiple devices and catch-up.

I'll be disconnecting and boycotting foxtel as a result of this new tv deal the afl have made with foxtel.

Can confirm that despite the full screen issues on tablets, using a phone with chromecast still gives you full screen on your big screen tv. Picture quality still sucks but that's to be expected.

The Herald Sun have released what seems to be a pretty good deal for fanatics who read the HS, play Supercoach and want Foxtel Play.

It might be worth having a look at for those shitty with AFL/Telstra.

Does anyone know if this can be used OS and does it include the fox footy coverage that watchafl has?

To me it reads like live games and garbage from HS without any additional features.

Thanks

Is anyone else having trouble with the radio part of the AFL app on iPhone? Have tried to listen to live audio streams of JLT games but I find that when I navigate away from the app or my screen goes dark, the audio cuts out. It wasn't doing this last year. Has anyone had a response from the AFL about this? I presume it's a known issue because I've seen other people moaning about it but am yet to find a solution. I live in the UK so as far as I know I have no other way of listening to live audio of games except for via the AFL app.

Was anyone else able to listen to the radio on the AFL app once they locked their phone?

As soon as I locked mine it cut out.

Logged a call with the AFL after the first week when the bug was discovered. They said they would pass it on to their tech team to look into.

There was an update to the AFL app late last week and I was able to navigate away from the app/lock my screen again without the audio cutting out. So credit to the AFL for listening and fixing the bug. This was from an Android device.

That's encouraging, still doesn't work on iPhone.

works really well (I don't live in Oz), love the way it remembers where you left off if you don't watch a complete game in one sitting, casting to the TVs perfect as well, no complaints at all here...YET!

Had the same issue on my laptop getting redirected to the international site.

Signed up through Chrome on my phone on https://id.afl.com.au/livepass and all went smoothly.

I would suggest that anything outside of Oz and NZ will require use of the Watchafl.com.au service.

They do offer weekly subscriptions that carry full access to all features for that week.

Just my guess however as they do everything via IP addresses and if you are OS, you'll be using an non OZ IP addy ( unless you VPN ) so that will kick you out.

Go Catters

Seriously disappointing that Telstra have limited the picture in live games on the AFL app to 7 inch diagonal. That's less than half the screen size of an iPad with a big box around the viewing area.

Telstra states this is due to a new digital rights agreement with the AFL, but it's patently obvious the are trying to push people onto Foxtel play (Telstra are 50% owners). As a Telstra customer, the video option is free but this has turned me from feeling good about it to being very annoyed. Many people have paid $90 for the season pass.

I'm surprised the AFL are happy to have their name on the new app when the video limiting is just going to make their fans feel pissed off. I've already written to the AFL asking that they make a Telstra treat supporters with respect.

In the meantime I guess I'll be watching the Foxtel games at the pub since it's very hard to watch wideshots on a 7 inch screen. Not interested in all the other crap Foxfooty content (I get all my expert opinions from bigfooty.com), and I don't need repeats of sixties sitcoms either.

Excellent quality yes but shits me to tears offering the girls games as the 1st option or the premier billing.......here a tip watchafl ( I know they be monitoring ) allow us to drop and drop or choose what content I want to see......there are some people not interested in watching womens footy.

Ok im very happy with the quality of watch afl, works well with a dns service airplaying to my atv4. has anyone in oz got it to airplay to a chromecast using a dns service? only way i can get it to work on chromecast is to have both phone and chromecast on a vpn
