I'm currently designing a prototype for an AFL Monopoly Board Game, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to add.

So far I've decided to base team values according to where the teams finished at the end of the year (eg. Collingwood will be the highest value, then St.Kilda, Geelong, Bulldogs etc.). I'm planning on adding Gold Coast and GWS to the board and they will be the lowest value properties.

Instead of stations, stadiums will be used. These four stadiums will be the MCG, The Gabba, Subiaco Oval and the SCG. The GO square will be replaced with a GOAL square (get it?) and the GO TO JAIL square will be a FACE THE TRIBUNAL square.

That's all I've got so far, if you guys can suggest any new ideas or changes I will gladly consider them.

Cam.

Instead of Collingwood you could have Ablett as the most expensive property :p

Sounds like a good idea, something I'd consider buying for the right price (the game that is, not Ablett).

Thanks for your feedback. :D

I was thinking about using players but my values on the players would be biased and not be the same as others.

what kind of questions do you have for the chance card things?

and the electric and water property things, maybe afl headquarters and another official type building.

good luck.

I'm still thinking about the Chance/Community Chest Cards, if you have any suggestions you're welcome. Good idea about the headquarters, I will consider using it :D

At the moment I am developing the property cards for each team. I will upload an example when I am done with all of them

You should think about using the number of premierships won as each team's value rather than just the 2010 season.

or the relative value of the residence of the club.

melbourne and carlton would be up the top I guess. Collingwood and North shortly behind.

Gold coast would also be relatively high.

That's a good idea but to put Essendon and Carlton as the highest values over teams such as Collingwood and Geelong seems odd to me. If you have any suggestions about how the teams should be placed please feel free to reply :D

Just to inform you guys, I am hoping to improve on the quality of this edition of Monopoly

That doesn't make any kind of sense. So you go around buying up clubs as you move around the board? Might work for Soccer but AFL club are owned by members. Not to mention that it'll offend a large number of player right off the bat depending on where you rank their clubs.

If you were going to do it I'd probably choose players to buy rather than clubs.

Mayfair- Gary Ablett Jr
Park Lane- Chris Judd
Bond Street- Nick Riewoldt
Oxford Street- Jonathan Brown

Vine Street- Dean Cox
Marlborough Street- Brent Harvey
Bow Street- Kirk Tippett
Northhumberland Avenue- Jobe Watson

Thanks for your feedback gandaal. I'm considering conducting a poll for bigfooty members to help decide where teams go on the board.
