For the first time in a while, the Dees look settled in defense as Dunn's put on a heap of size, they have the two bulls in Frawley and Pederson while McDonald looks like a very promising prospect, athletic with very long arms. The perfect modern day defender.
They also got a couple of speedsters to collect the ball at ground level and take it out of defensive 50.

Tough game for Geelong this one may be.

Channeling Yoda?

Surely it is the wrong time of year for list discussions........Appreciate a few people have been flattened by the Vardy, Motlop and Christensen injuries but it is all to play for in 2014 still!

And really, given how good Geelong are at finding players from seemingly anywhere in a draft, do we need to trade? I wouldn't have thought so.

Awesome , hope they keep all the youth and trim 3 of the more experienced guys

Agreed. Boris, Jimmy, SJ, Kel all on my list for a rest…

The older guys didn't play much in the last game, and it was over 2 weeks ago…..

Boris pulled 35 touches and Stokesy got 39. Don't have JB or Kel stats but I thought there were reasonable as well.
Id be happy for reduced workload on the +29 year old group of this one and let em rip in the NM game….

Save them for the North game
We have always played plenty of kids in the NAB , has worked for us in the past - see no reason to change that now.
Even though it's the NAB the pressure is still AFL standard so no harm in seeing how the newbies perform.

Yeah I've got no problem with it.

How many do they actually take?
i.e. is there a different bench rule due to the heat and humidity?

i.e. 8 on the bench, no subs?

I believe you have it correct..
No subs in heat and 8 on the bench…

Just highlighted the guys that have come in.

Why no highlight for Selwood, Sheringham or Hambling - didn't think those 3 played last match?

The Suns vs Lions game the other day used the heat effected rule - a full bench with no subs, can't remember though if they removed the limitations on interchange numbers or not though.

Yep. Sensible squad. Absolutely zero need for Mackie, Stokes and Enright to travel. Especially as they all played well against Collingwood. Murdoch gets a chance up forward which is good, and we get to see if Thurlow might play Guthrie's role in defence.

Needless to say, to see both Simpson and McIntosh in one Geelong team is heartwarming as well.
