It's the preseason still lads, settle down. Once the serious stuff gets going we'll get a gauge on who is where. Lots of clubs want to try players and different things during the first few weeks, the lesser clubs may be all out 'win, win, win' but most just want a few hit outs and have a look at a few.

I hear a few of broadies better players don't care too much anyway.

Redlands will be good as will most clubs this year, the comp will be very strong. The finals and GF will probably come down to injuries to key players, an as good as morningsode were last season, they kept most of there guns out on the park, the majority of the year.

Labrador have ha at least 8 senior players put each practice match, aswell as Redlands, Morningside never care too much this time of year and NT are the real smokies I think (11-12 home games and recruited some quality big men)

What drugs are you on?They have won 2 pre season games, which is good for the club but remember broadbeach had half of there team stay on the coast to go surfing the big surf.Bring on the main season, then we will see which teams will stand up

Interesting you say that might be 2 players you were referriong two. By the looks of it it could be a long year for broadbeach if you think Aspley will strugle. After talking to a few people afdter the game Aspley had 6 out in the likes of Bryce Carroll Jamie Sheehan, Declan Bevan, Steve Brittain and Brodie Shade. When all up and going will be very handy additions. As for teams not trying in the practice games you have to be kiddig.. . (spots on the line)

Who is the ex-adelaide captain who is apparently going to Mt Gravatt? Was in the courier mail the other week. Ricciuto, Bickley????

In reference to Aspley, watch two recruits in particular, being Matt Shir, and Tyson Hartwig from the strong Ovens and Murray league. These 2 can sure play footy, especially Shir.

Players will always try but some clubs and coaches will nurse players (not play them or play them for a half/quarter) and play others in different positions. All I am sayin is winning isn't the moat important thing for some clubs.

Damo, you should no better.6 regular senior players didn't play,2 of them state players.Aspley will have to improve from the amount of money they have spent on recruitment or there football committee should resign which will be a good thing. What happened to the development of local juniors?Aspley always spruik they have heap of juniors,so where are they?

Missing the point again Chick.

Aspley got the nod for State League last year. Their juniors - of which there are many (Mitch Hahn, Daniel Pratt, Cheynee Stiller before I even start on State League teams) have grazed in other pastures due to Aspley not being an option previously.

Give the boys three years and you'll see some real talent - and draftees. Watch James Ives - an Under 16 that'll captain Qld 18's.

What's the infatuation with money anyway? Doesn't mum give you enough for lunch each week?

Aiden Pratt? - do you play for PBC?

Interesting to hear thoughts on the games this week.

Tigers back on track? Losing their first 2 practice games would suggest they were off track, but i am a big believer in practice matches being just that. I don't know but i can't wait for the first few rounds to see exactly were everyone is at?

Aspley in the hunt? The number of quality recruits will have them improved but will they threaten for the premiership? I personally think they will battle to make the finals. Not saying they won't make them but they will have a fight on their hands from, in no particular order MT Gravatt, Morningside, Lions, Southport, Redlands, Labrador and NT. 8 pretty decent teams fighting for 5 spots.

Southport play this week? No they played last weekend and pumped Magpies. Week off like everyone then into Redlands round 1.

Anyone got a top five prediction? Mine is:
NT
Southport
Lions
Morningside
Labrador

Redlands a smoky but hard to gauge. Mt Gravatt to miss. Hard to replace Grose, Dosser and Tommy out for a large chunk.

Pretty hard to put that 5 together

I notice that Mitch Hahn donated a dozen sherrin footballs to the Zillmere Eagles Juniors AFL from his super goal in the NAB Cup.Might say something about certain people on Aspleys committee of the treatment of players that have left the club.
