Home ground advantage to teams 2 and 4.1 has week off

If Aspley can beat Sharks and Panthers beat Redlands then Panthers finish 2nd and get home ground advantage.
If Brisbane can beat Labrador,Aspley beat Sharks,Panthers beat Redlands then Panthers finish top.( Church time this week)
Sharks can also finish top if they win and Labrador lose.Morningside will finish 2nd on %age if they win.
Mt Gravatt will host Nt if Thunder beat Broadbeach.
 
Chikka I think you are being extremely optimistic if you believe Morningside can possibly finish first and for that you should be praised.
I reckon the Hornets are a show to beat the Sharks (given the Sharks recent wobbles) and you should beat Redlands but I can't see the Lions beating Labrador with their present list.
Siders are a real chance to finish 2nd but unlikely 1st.

The Sharks slide is a real worry.
Possible away first final then coming up against Mt Gravatt or Thunder !

I will be attending church every night this week praying for the best.I cannot see Labrador losing though.

Broadbeach were very short on depth so no oppotunities have have been taken by these players in fact some u18's have played before they are ready, Labrador due to injuries and availablity have had plenty of opportunities and have played both gc listed and u18's (they took 2 to Nt i believe), Southport however is a different kettle of fish, they as previously stated used the GC players for depth, they have only played 2 u18's both against the magpies and each have only had the one game,Fowler came back aginst Mt G as the 23rd player.The contracted Gc players have now been dropped to reserves (because they can't play finals) and the supp list has had names added (see record). I have heard one GC contracted player failed to show for the Sharks reserves.So only Southport have the young guys looking around, the other two have had opps if you are good enough.Mt G looked very good on sat too much run and leg speed in the last quarter.

You mention in your post (above) that the GC-Suns players can't play in the AFLQ final series, is this the case?????? If correct this would be an extremley hard call on these players to make up the numbers for the Gold Coast sides throughout the year and then their services could not be used to finish off the season, this comp is entirley different to the VFL and if any player contracted or not to the Suns has played 3 games at a club an therfore qualified, then in my book they should be available to play in that clubs final series (if selected) seniors or reserves. Common sense should prevail.

Pretty sure the " SUNS " contracted players are not eligable.Players like Fowler from Southport,Grayson,Susuve from Labrador are allowed to play as they are not contract players as yet.Am I reading this correct
 
The Gold Coast Suns come under two categories 1/ Contracted players 2/ Uncontracted (this is to the Suns).

For QAFL finals Contracted players are ineligible,Dixon who played 1 game for Lab is in this category as are Liddy, Haberfield & Stanlake who have played for Southport regulartly.Fowler, Grayson & Susuve are category 2 and are eligible.

They also qualify as the 23rd player from the supplementary list, remembering that this player (23) has to come from the supp list.

2. Bad luck Evo on the results of your scans on the knee - hopefully there is still some footy left in you after the recovery.

3. Been very interested in the 'conflict' between VD and some forum members. To be honest I think VD is a big 'wind-up' and I doubt he's ever played for the Hornets. His info is second-hand and he's playing games with those silly enough to participate. :D

Lets hope Oddball is allowed to travel with the Thunder fot its 1st finals game.Better win strike rate than ThunderDoc

Development of juniors? Know I'm not knocking the Vultures by any stretch. I am in fact a Vultures junior footballer myself. Most clubs will only be competitive at this level by recruiting key players and filling with local talent where possible. Look at the Magpies. They have not been able to recruit heavily in their State League infancy and it has hurt them. Aspley on the other hand seem to be turning a corner with a good share of Northside juniors starting to fill their best 23 around talented imports. Labrador's success was based on this approach (thanks also to GC17) as has that of the Vultures.

VD, this all seems to cut another one of your arguments to shreds as being based on a fiction borne out of spite. Unfortunately though I expect the logic is lost on you. I look forward (sarcasm intended) to the inevitable irrational rant in response.

Smouha was a rookie search and started his football at Mt Gravatt, Furfaro, Steven, Harley, Jamison and Vearing are all Mt Gravatt Juniours.

Southport.Giving Aspley a big big show,but sharks usually win these games.
 
Does anyone know if the supp list player (23rd) has to qualify by games as well? If so an injury might cause some clubs to only have 22 players in the finals.
