Ah yes that's right... after the first two posts by SLF Celtic_Pride chimed in and said, "sympathy post"... and the thread has become one of the most popular seen on the Bay. Was some brilliant writing by SLF in there.

I must add - on the SEN thing... they ACTUALLY gave me the prize of a copy of Dougie Hawkins new CD, the footy songs shit he's released... but when I spoke to the producer after he said I could have the dinner lol...

Firstly, they beat us by less than a goal last year.

Their midfield is nuthing compared to ours.

Black
Power
Rich
Johnstone
Clark

Compared to what?

Judd
Murphy
Gibbs
Cloke

Dont think so

If we dont have a backline how did we stop North and St.Kilda from dominating.

Now I hope we smash those flogs at Carlton, hope Fev kicks nuthing and Brown kicks 10, like 2007.

Some Carlton flog was on SEN just now saying he thought that Carlton will "smash the Lions by 6 or 7 goals. We beat them by 6 goals at the end of last year, and our midfield is far superior to theirs." he said. "Plus, they don't have a backline, this could be a 10, or 8 goal game for Fev." He added.

I wasn't very happy. So, I rang SEN and got on there, corrected his idiotic comments, and won myself a meal at the pub. :D
Great stuff mate:thumbsu:

Was probably Celtic_Pride. Did he send any death threats Weevil's way?
Would you care to elaborate?:)

Lol yes when he was saying "we're going to give you a copy of Dougie's CD" I almost jumped in and said, "Oh surely not..."

Can't we get a week where the oposition doesn't have a milestone game?
This week, it's that spud they call "Irish". AKA o'hAilpin...hasn't his name got a strange capital letter? :p

22 players in a team. Its basic maths that you should encounter an opposition milestone every second game.

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have some friends travelling from Denmark, and I wanted to show them an AFL game. I tried getting tickets tonight, but it looks like you can't get any decent quantity. There are 10 of us in total and I would really like to make it happen.

Does anyone have any tickets/leads/anything for me? Thank you :)

I'd be interested in seeing that basic maths.

Nearly every second game I should have said.

If we count a milestone as factors of 50, then, ceteris paribus, the chances of an opposition milestone each week is 22/50 or 44%.

I'd ring Ticketmaster (or is it Ticketek?) directly and ask for assistance. The online ticketing systems are rather limited.

Round 1 vs West Coast - No milestones
Round 2 vs Carlton - - - No milestones
Round 3 vs Sydney - - - No milestones
Round 4 vs Collingwood - No milestones
Round 5 vs Geelong - - - Joel Selwood (50)
Round 6 vs Essendon - - Dustin Fletcher (300)
Round 7 vs Richmond - - No milestones
Round 8 vs Adelaide - - Michael Doughty (150)
Round 9 vs St Kilda - - Lenny Hayes (200)
Round 10 vs Kangaroos - Andrew Swallow (50)
Round 11 vs Carlton - - Setanta o'hAilpin (50)

That 6/11 games assuming Irish isn't a late exclusion ;)

44% of games against an opposition should include a milestone.
While atm,
55% of games against an opposition have included a milestone. (After Sat. night)

Sorry for getting a little too technical ;)

11 games isn't much of a sample size. Do the last 50 and see how we're going.

Regardless, (and I am sure Setanta and Swallow are much loved teammates at their respected clubs), but I doubt the 50th game of these sort of players is really much of a motivator for their teams.

The only 3 worthy milestones there are Fletcher, Doughty and Hayes, and we won 2 of those games, and went very close in the third.

Yeah but it ain't ceteris paribus, TBD... there's a lot more at play, and obviously more players reach 50 games than 300, for example.

It's an irrelevant question because it doesn't matter, and I could not be rooted doing the research to work it out.... but let's just say it's 1/x, and x = whatever. :)

Nice try ;)

I think you're just trying to waste my time TBD :)

Not at all.

Toss a coin 10 times and you could very well get 4 heads, and 6 tails. But that isn't presenting a very strong case that tossing a coin is a 40/60 proposition.

Do it 1000 times and you'll get a figure much closer to 50:50.

Its science.
