I don't agree with that one. Corrie has been on the goal kickers list pretty much every week this year. He hasn't missed many either. I think he does have a good goal sense actually.

I agree.

Now lets just _______ win a game!

I'm excited to see Clouston have a go at senior level. And thankful that Proud has gotten a call up, hopefully he can nail down a spot for the rest of the season. From what I've watched of the AFLQ he looks a class above and belongs at the top.

I see the inclusions of Proud and Clouston requiring a minimum of 3 weeks, both boys need an extended run in the seniors.

If Proud plays on the ball during most of his TOG then i would hope for him to get 15 possessions and 4 clearances.

I am hoping Clouston plays as the lead up chf, we need a 3rd lead up forward to do the MULE work, if Clouston plays that role then a 6-8 mark game with 3 kicks to bring the ball inside 50 would be a first up contribution.

Should be a ripper of game, i am hoping that the selections will refresh our team and certainly refresh many of us as supporters. It is always exciting to see new blood in the team.

I wonder if Proud will be able to move around ok with the weight of all the Bigfooty supporters sitting on his shoulders

As long as he goes looking for the ball at the bottom of the pack, gets few clearances in the middle, helping out Black in a way, he's done his job.

Leave him in the squad for the remaining rounds, if he's fit to play.

Corrie looks like a midfielder to me. I agree that he hasn't got the uncanny goal sense of a quality small forward. The only small in our side who does is TJ.

and Power. If he plays in forward pocket.

Bloody hell the axe swung yesterday!
Does this mean we'll be on fire tomorrow night as it looks like Lethal's serious?

I read into this week's ins and outs that the penny might have dropped- no more automatic selections for anyone.

I can think of at least 3 others who to a greater or lesser extent have been doing the routine 9 to 5 thing and just coasting along- hopefully Notting being dropped might deliver the required message.

I honestly think that, Brisbane being the AFL outpost it is, the average Lions player might not always realise that being selected in the premier football code in the premier competition in the country is a real achievement- the elite of the elite. Example- Clouston's elevation[well merited, IMO] would be a huge story in Melbourne, 3 years after picking up a Sherrin for the first time to AFL senior football- what a story!!!

Reinforce the message I say.

I've changed my mind about Power's goal sense. He's either lost it or forgotten it IMO. If/when he returns to the forward line, hopefully he can re-learn it.

Last year, there was a kick, a sidewards pass from Power in the F50. that's still kept my faith. If he can do that to find a target, he can definitely do that to split the big sticks.

I was going to post the same thing. In a fair few of the games I've watched, when he gets it in the forward line he'll spray away and miss (quite considerably) shots that he would've nailed 9 times out of 10 back when he lived in the forward line.

He is still the best player in our side for spotting up a target but goal sense is a little different. Buddy Franklin has the best goal sense I've seen for a while (at least in a big man) - he just always seems to know where the sticks are and where to lay the boot on the ball to convert....set shots excepted.

His demeanour at training on Wednesday was enough to suggest he was serious to me.

You should have seem him the week before the Demons game.

He was absolutely psychotic on the track... even gave the trainers an almighty spray.

Possibly. It seems to me they picked the OUTS first, with players having run out of chances. They then picked the best 4 replacements.

Sounds about right - mind you I read the ins and outs and thought I was reading from our 2009 ins and outs thread :D should be interesting and hopefully a lot less hard on the blood pressure than last time (because we win so well not the other way around of course!)

Roll on Sat night.

Feel sorry for the bloke that Proud lines up on.

Albie is going to be hungry.

I wonder if he will line up on Grima - another one who will be very hungry as he plays to keep an AFL career after having about 6,000 hamstring injuries in his 5 years on the list.

There are a few players with really similar style in the midfield actually:

Grima and Proud
Boomer and Power
Wells and Johnstone
Black and Harris

and then in the ruck

Petrie and Charman
Brown and Clark

Would be interesting if they all went head to head.

Corrie seems to be the most confusing player in the league. Opposition supporters seem to think he is a crumbing forward or half forward flanker & this illusion seems to be rubbing off on some of the Brisbane people too.;)

Corrie is best played on the wing, where he has spent most of his career btw. He is a attacking goalkicking winger. Say whatever you like about his defensive skills but he is one of the only young blokes in the team who knows where to be to get in the right place when were going forward. Kicking is good, and 18 goals this year tells me he is doing ok compared to some of the other mids renowned for there goals on the run from midfield.

Has had a good year IMO and will thrive if/when brisbane start winning the ball a little.

Needs a role in the forward pocket for a couple of weeks IMO.

OK, he can be great setting up forwards with those cute little dinks but on the flip side, he can be costly when chipping it around the back half, especially if the opponents are smart enough to read him.

The memory's a bit hazy but I'm convinced he cost us at least one goal against the Eagles with a "dink" across the face of goal and one definitely went down the tube with that abominable kick in last week against the Tiges....................and FFS what the hell was he doing taking a kick-in anyway????

We desperately need a crumber with class and goal-sense, so let's get Lukey up there at the feet of Brown and Bradshaw and let him rip!
