Rest him. Better to be safe than sorry. It's only Melbourne. Fevola and Staker and perhaps Maguire will do enough up forward to get us the win.

Don't play Brown, Voss. Please!

I thought I saw him grab his left side a little after he missed a shot around the 50 mark in the last quarter. The club has flat out denied that he needs surgery, I have no reason to disbelieve them.

Fev needs to stop jumping all over him when we kick goals!

Am I the only one that has this feeling that if Brown plays, he gets a long term injury? It has that sort of feeling about it. Don't risk it, Voss.

Let Leuey ruck 75% of the game and put Clark up forward. ;):thumbsu:

Have you ever seriously examined Clakies' set shot kicking for goal?

Hardly the stuff that inspires confidence.

Nope, I reckon if Browny misses, go with Staker at CHF and see how he performs with real responsibility on his shoulders.

If not now, then when?

Double edged sword if Brown doesn't play. Obviously it's great for us to have one less quality player to pin down, but we also lose the experience that our backline would gain from it... Fevola also might explode with increased forward line delivery he hasn't had since leaving Carlton.

Sucks from that point also that i was really looking forward to watching big Browny play in the flesh at the MCG on Saturday night :(

With Brown and Black out it's interesting to note that Luke Power is the only player playing on Saturday night that played for Brisbane in the 2004 Grand Final. This side really is the "new" Lions and most will be playing together for the next half decade which is a great spot to be in.

Yes, I remember the helicopters. That said, I also remember his field kicking was pretty ordinary as well. Fast forward to late last season, his field kicking was excellent. Reckon he deserves a shot up forward ..

is there any truth about brown be injured and might miss the game this week, i thought he had problems about losing 5kilo's suffering abdominal pains from dehydration after a game?

The cynic lurking inside me says this is all about publicity.
But the AFL big-wigs would not like it if JB didn't play. Quite a number of opposition supporters would go to our game because he is/was/might/bloody-better-be playing.
Plus it is a Demons home game, so quite a few GA tickets should be available for neutral fans to use.

Just practising.

Excellent idea. Has shown enough in his debut game, need to get some games under his belt. Staker and A-corn at centre half forward, Fev deep.
Heaven forbid long term injury (*touches woods*) to either of our tall towers long term, but it'd be great to know he's up to the task, and prepared for it, if required. A good opportunity to further improve depth against reasonable quality but not top line opposition (not dissing you there Melbourne).
While we know Clark can move forward and his set kicking lately has improved, I'd rather leave that option for 'emergency break glass' as he does so well in the ruck and pushing into the backline.
