AFL Round 6: Brisbane vs Sydney, GABBA

What about the Goals Sydney were gifted in front of goals it went both ways you toser

I agree. Dubious free kicks both ways. Umpires were very ordinary, but I don't think they favoured either side.

Both are valid in relation to the game.
Maybe sydney where off due to almost being matched in a hard fought contested game? Maybe our tackling pressure put Sydney off.

Just saying that your team was off is disregarding any work the lions put in.

It was a great game to watch and sydney were deadly accurate in front of goal. Happy to get anywhere near a team of their calibre.

Delusional Sydney supporters no one is saying Sinclair faked it he hurt his knee, people are saying it was not stretcher worthy and that was proven by the fact he ran off the the ground without trainer assistance.

If you think that Longmire couldn't have seen a player down and called the bench to call for the stretcher now your wearing rose coloured glasses, it definitely is a plausible theory and the fact Sinclair was allowed to jog off by medical staff gives it more credit

And of course that situation has never happened in the past.

So do you think they knew Sinclair was going to get back up? That he communicated with the staff? Stayed on the ground in agony for 1 min in the dying minutes of the game in the hope of getting a stretcher called? Wouldn't it of been more convincing for him to actually get on the stretcher instead of running off? You're an idiot.

Quite possible yes, although Sydney have come through other pressure games with better skills than seen today.
Not disregarding anything by Brisbane, they can be proud of the effort and pressure and maybe a sign things are on the up swing for them now.

Medical staff access a player on the ground and call for a stretcher on the ground and if they call for it they make the player stay on the ground and get on it. Seemed the stretcher was called from the bench.

I'm an idiot did you read what I said your making me sound like it was pre planned I'm saying its plausible that Longmire saw an opportunity with Sinclair down and the ball in a dangerous position for your team to get the play stopped

Also not saying Sinclair had any hand in it he didn't make the decision or fake an injury

I'm trying to be subjective, but this is just wrong. I've seen various examples where people have gone down with a concussion and the stretcher has been called for, but they end up getting up and jogging off. I recall it happening in a sickening head collision in a Suns game last year.

I immediately thought worst case scenario when Sinclair went down, wouldn't surprise me if the medical staff thought the same considering he couldn't put any pressure on the ball carrier in a tight contest.

The Bulldogs called for the stretcher for Murphy immediately against the Hawks just a few weeks ago. I suppose that was wrong too, because he wasn't properly assessed first?

You have a point except in all those instances the players were helped from the ground by medical staff not allowed to run off on their own, if he was helped from the ground it makes sense to me. But the fact play was stopped and then he was allowed to make his own way off didn't look good

Odd seeing all the neutral supporters thinking Sydney got the umps. The umps were just plain crap as they always are. Only real controversy was the stretcher call that I'm highly suspicious was a tactical move made in poor spirit. Other than that umps made crap calls both ways.

And much more importantly it was a good close game to watch.

Seems to be a lot of abusive, defensive Swans out and about today. Still with the following results by Brisbane I am sure the Swans can now be classed as favourites for the flag:
Swans +3
Doggies +57
WCE +64
Cats +69
Roos +34

Yep, Swans the moral victors and clearly flag favourites.

Good word. Lucky for him it was only a short term agony thingy, if it was long term, hell it might have been serious.

Who said we were flag favourites?

Abusive and defensive? So supporters from one team who defend the club of accusations of cheating are suddenly abusive and defensive??
More bemused that some see this as form of cheating, when there were injury concerns for a player.

I'm not sure why Christensen cops so much hate for receiving legitimate free kicks. The poor bloke is risking permanent damage by recklessly attacking the ball with his head down (he's already had multiple back surgeries)

Granted, he accentuates the contact, however he's still receiving a blow and has earnt the free by attacking first and putting his head over the ball. They'd be free kicks in any era.

Wait, so now the medical staff should assist him off to avoid being suspicious? I don't get what you're saying here. He ran off after they called for the stretcher, so that shouldn't come into their decision to call for it. It should purely be Sinclair's immediate reaction and precedence. Both of which suggest calling for the stretcher was the correct and sensible call.

Go and read his posts for more examples. As for the injury, only the player knows.

Absolutely, great pressure from them against a side not at their best.
Good improvements across the Park from Brisbane.

Yeah we were pretty good with Schache, Green, Beams, Paparone and Cutler missing from our best side. :p

I'm not happy with the Stretcher call but gee it was a hard fought game by both teams.

You do not call for a stretcher until you have reached the player, no medical staff in their right mind calls for a stretcher before they see if it's needed. And if as your trying to say the medical staff accessed he needed a stretcher and it was the right decision then for those same medical staff to not assist the player off the ground it is gross incompetence by the medical staff. I've spent my entire life around football clubs and I have never seen someone call for a stretcher until they get to a player.

Most Brisbane are being more feral than Adelaide fans after Hawks loss. Petty mindset tbh
Happy to take the four points and not give this pathetic thread another glance.

Vonn on the NAB advert are they trying to impersonate you?

Is that the McDonalds ad? I've literally been asked that 50 times on Bigfooty. Perhaps I should make it my signature that I WOULD NEVER DO A MCDONALDS AD. Anyway - who knows :p
