AFL Round 6: Brisbane vs Sydney, GABBA

Need to stop the bickering. Silly mistake by a young player in Dawson (who will learn in time) at the end and we were just beaten by a team who's on another level. Take a close loss than a thrashing every day of the week. Well played Swans, well played ;)

Surely Sydney get a fine for calling a stretcher and a player not using it, especially when it stopped a loose ball

Well worth it if it prevents an injury getting worse regardless of whom that player is.

People have the memory of a goldfish when criticizing umps for getting a team over the line. Brisbane got 80% of the free kicks in the last quarter. Most importantly, all of ours were there.

I guess following Brisbane you wouldn't know a good list if it hit you in the face, you clueless idiot, your supporters are actually crying about umpires, that's where you got most of your goals, I guess shit teams breed shit supporters, well done on living upto it
Haha bit touchy, go do your homework kid

The stretcher decision
2 players wrestling for a ball 1 cm away from boundary. Hurt player who in agony for 1 min before the stretcher was called. Did you expect us to leave a man who couldn't walk on the field in the dying minutes of the game? Plz stop being a moron.

The wet weather allowed the slow Sydney side into the game.

On a dry track we win easily.
I dare say on a dry track the Swans' far superior skill would have made it an easier win. It was wet and very scrappy. Brought the difference is skills down to not much.

Listen Brisbane were fantastic and on effort alone should have won it. Swans looked lethargic and Lions looked very hungry so great signs for them.

Getting abusive and everyone jumping on the "Bloody umps" bandwagon just frustrates the ****ing crap out of me. Good and ball calls for both sides as there is with every game. Taking what was a great contest and moaning about the umps just cheapens the experience. If the Lions had got up by I wouldn't be having a dig at the whistleblowers. It's just such a base reaction.

The time of the game shouldn't matter. Only thing that should matter is if the doctor or trainer legitimately believed he needed the stretcher. The rule doesn't exist to benefit the team, it's for player safety.

Not really. Everyone is playing up the "blame the umps" angle because Sydney fans are the worst on this forum for blaming umpires in losses.

And the reactions from your mob today just enforces that opinion.

There's some new rule in football where if you win by less than a goal, it was the umpire's fault :)

It's not just that, it's if you're a good team you only win due to umpiring. Cats 07-11 apparently had the umpiring always go their way, as seemingly do Hawthorn the last few years. Some might argue that the better teams cause their opposition to panic and transgress but BigFooty's received wisdom seems to be that each good team is only good due to a vast conspiracy.

Yet he jogged off.

OK he totally faked it because he's a completely immoral cheat. Is that what you want to imply? Seriously? If this is what the vultures are going to lock onto tonight I might be best to keep clear of the forum tonight lest I do some Alistair wall punching.
