I assume you were 2300 after last year and that that is not a new number. I wrote for an update "given the recent upgrades" but they gave me the same number as at the end of last year.
I am hoping for at least another 1000 at the of the year on top of the roughly 2000 just upgraded.

Correct, that’s last years number. They wouldn’t give me an updated number until November because it will depend on how many people accept the upgrade

MCC members are actually members of the cricket club. I don't know what we are but we have no rights to anything except access to games.
I think AFL membership was originally VFL Park membership. But when I joined it in mid 90's it was already called AFL membership so it had more than just VFL Park membership. I assume when it was just VFL Park it allowed someone to park at VFL Park for free and attend all the night series matches free and any match there during the season.
Since VFL Park got sold to allow profiteers to steal matches from there to Docklands it simply a access membership to both grounds but not nothing much beyond that. When I first joined I could use it to attend matches at Princes Park too. It had reciprocal rights at places like Football Park, Subiaco and Sydney too. I attended matches at those grounds with my AFL membership in late 90's and early 2000's.

Early days

One thing the AFL Membership had going for it was the dress regulations
The MCC demanded a collared shirt and socks to the knees if wearing shorts (I believe this has been 'relaxed' a little)

Pre COVID - in the AFL you could take a beer back to your seat
The MCC you had to remain at the bar - or behind glass (again, I believe this has been relaxed)

Access to Dockland games has been a win for AFL Members - but as we know - we've lost a few seats to the 'Medallion Club'

The Shane Warne Stand will be undergoing a $1billion redevelopment (work starting in about 5 years)

Then 'WE' will have the best facilities of a $105,000 people stadium (wonder who will get those extra seats - not 'US')

The DISDAIN with which we are treated will always & sadly remain

Anyone know the go with Marvel stadium in regards to AFL members? Do we have a reserved area or can i just show up and enter and sit in general admin? Also do we have a members bar or anything like that? Yeah I am one of those Tigers that doesn't usually venture to Marvel, but thinking of going tonight.

You can scan in for GA on level 3.

Or you can pay a $9 booking fee to get seats on level 1.

They turn one of the function rooms into a makeshift bar for the AFL members on the wing.

awesome thanks mate. What level is the makeshift bar usually?

There used to be 3 bays on level 1 Aisles 6-8 I think it was where AFL members could get walk up seats. And its not far from the members bar which helps

Aisles 8-9 are walk ups for AFL members tonight on Level 1. Always good to check the “Around the Grounds” section of the weekly email

Yeah, there is a couple of aisles on level one for AFL members at Docklands but think unless you pre-booked a seat there earlier in week, you probably have to head to level 3 to take a seat there.

There have been AFL Member walkup aisles on level 1 for a lot of non Essendon/Carlton games this year. Tonight is aisle 8 and 9.

Also pays to check Marvel Twitter on game day, tonight there are 16 other general admission aisles on level 1. Similar 2 weeks back for Hawks 'home' game against Crows.

The wait to gold is not 12 years. I signed up my son when he was 6 months he's now almost 10 and he's still around 8000. I reckon he'll be lucky to get it before he's 18.

My nephew is about the same, was around 9,800 and been a member for 9 years now.

According to Ticketek, both MCG games go on sale at midday on Tuesday.

Surely they could’ve spaced them out by an hr or 2?

I’m expecting the site to crash by 12.01pm
I have no idea why they do this - do they not understand the servers get overloaded every time and also people may want to attend multiple games?
