I reckon it's 13,000 tops in terms of tickets available for AFL gold members.

So if it's a Collingwood V Carlton GF, you'd imagine 11,000 - 12,000 will go to gold members of both sides, and the remaining 1,000 - 2,000 will be available for non competing gold members.

I could be off the money but that's I how I see it.

There was a memo leaked listing ticket allocations for the 2017 GF (see page 151 of this thread)

Last year AFL Members were only allocated approximately 15,500 seats in the AFL Reserve for the GF.

http://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL Tenant/AFL/Files/Memo - Grand Final ticket allocation report for CAV.pdf

AFL Entitlements/Contractual Obligations
Actual - 16,228
Range - 5,000 – 30,000

AFL Members
Actual - 15,456
Actual Actual - 13634 (AFL Members via Ticketek (13493 seats + 141 standing))
Range - 13,000 - 23,000

No surprise "AFL Entitlement" come out on top and AFL Reserve are worse off.

Clear to see AFL members are going to have extremely tough times in a few years when that actual reduces to 13k and Entitlement hits 20k.

So 33% of people you see in AFL members are corps or flogs.

Good to know

The link to the memo doesn't seem to work but I'm sure I took a screenshot of it somewhere. Anyhow you can see the breakdown in Shakespeare's post.

I assume if Collingwood make it some Gold AFL Collingwood members wont be eligible to buy a ticket though due to going in the club ballot instead? I have opted to register for the club ballot as I am also top tier club member and get a guaranteed ticket from the club. Has it always been this way? I am only going by the email the AFL sent last week.

Looks like this guy was a full member in 2018 and missed out?

Full AFL member, no tickets. Those complaining about sitting up high, be grateful that you're going at all

These numbers are probably night and day different these days.

Who knows what's going on. I assume it's worse.

Honestly, any Golds with club support of a competing team who miss out should storm the gates

If you do not get a GF ticket then its hard to justify the increase in price over Silver.

The differences between Gold and Silver are:
  • Cheaper prelim final tickets
  • Higher priority GF tickets
  • Platinum waitlist (lol)

Have I missed anything?

Also higher priority on Prelims (if it is a high demand game)

Any idea when that came in?

I imagine Collingwood v Port/GWS would be a high demand game.. just because of Collingwood
I don't know. I just read it today. I don't remember it being a thing in 2019, although I bought tickets in the Richmond allocation as that had cheaper options.

I just wish they would come out, give us the numbers and own up that they are reducing out capacity whilst pandering to corporates. Don't treat me with contempt. Just be honest and say we're all about the money and the bottom line.

I assume they are not being honest, as they were advertising this mythical Gold membership that just kept expanding in years to achieve.

AFL Members are like mushrooms. Feed them s**t and keep them in the dark.
They know if they're honest people will jump off.

I never saw anything. Maybe all the dinner packages were sold.
I was checking throughout the morning and everything said exhausted, then level 1 and level 2 tickets saids "limited availability " so thought they may have dropped more,
