You used to be able to have a bit of fun in this thread, now you're just met with a bunch of Gollums who get pissy that you're trying to steal their One Ring.

It's really becoming a haven for the elitist and entitled.

We're just trying to save the golden goose. Can you imagine how bad it would be if they closed these loopholes?

It's not really a loophole. There's no magic to it, it exists for a very specific reason, we can just use it to our advantage.

I find it funny that the people asking for the hot tips to be deleted probably found out about the said tip from this thread

Yep.

I also find it amazing that people believe these "hot tips" to be the only way you can guarantee yourself a seat.

I've never used a "hot tip" or a "loophole" and yet I've never missed out on tickets to any game I've wanted to attend.

Here are my "hot tips":

Be prepared
Know your login details
Know your barcode
Know your credit card details
Don't get greedy and **** around trying to get 'better' seats unless you're prepared to miss out.

Apologies if I've ruined the secret ticket procurement method for anyone out there!

For anyone who missed out, you can get a view on Ticketek of general public seats available, which go on sale soon.
There also seems to be some single seats around still. Q21 row CC.

Exactly. There are no secrets!

Girl Door GIF

I have been around since the glory days of m.ticketek.

Once they moved to this current system, it got a helluva lot harder.

I'd just prefer it was like when I first joined in 1994 when you just turned up and it was first in-best dressed. It's truly the most egalitarian way.

I turned up to the first Collingwood vs. Essendon ANZAC Day game in 1995 with some friends about midday and sat in N26 or N27. None of this booking crap.

The only condition then was that blankets/rugs weren't to be placed over vacant seats to save them for others.

Ironically, this remains a condition to this day despite them just about forcing us to have to resort to booking seats for every match despite how well it may or may not be attended.

6. Saving Seats in the AFL Reserve

AFL Members are not permitted to save seats for latecomers. Venue personnel are authorised to remove items used to save seats. AFL Members must respect the temporary reservation of a seat should an AFL Member who has entered the AFL Venue wish to vacate their seat briefly.

We're only forced to book tickets now because there were lockouts to some games in the late 90's and people complained that they didn't get to the venue early enough to get in. Too bad, I say.

Missed out for the first time. Had 4 gold and 1 silver so we separated the silver from the gold. The silver got a standing room ticket and got none for the 4 gold.

Ended up buying 5 tickets in the club allocation.

AFL membership on Twitter were a lot more forthcoming with info in 2018.

Back then there were 11k Collingwood club support with 7k of those gold.
I don’t know why it’s such a secret for them not to reveal club support numbers each year.

if things haven’t changed over the years then I think Collingwood have 7-8K gold, and Carlton have 4-5K gold.

if those 2 sides meet in the Gf, then that might be almost enough for essentially all but a few remaining gold members to miss out, if only 13,000 seats are sold to gold members.

Because they will do anything to hide the true situation regarding GF tickets.

If this happened and it quickly became clear that no non-competing gold members get tickets (people talk on platforms like this), then it would confirm the fact that there are only 13k tickets for members.

The AFL Reserve holds about 23k and once upon a time all of those were available to AFL members. They’ve quietly been stripped back since, with the single biggest block being when they simple took 5k of them and quietly handed them to the Medallion Club in 1999.

It’s the AFL - secrecy and corruption are their DNA.
