Do bronze get a waitlist spot?
Not directly but if you start off at silver you pay to be in the waitlist as part of your first years payment. Then you can drop to bronze if you aren't going much (such as having kids, travelling etc)

Lol what's the secret to getting tickets everyone keeps talking about?

Missed out once which was Tigers vs Adelaide and from then the 4 of us always jumped on with multiple devices on a joint call and haven't missed since.

I just wonder with Gold club support missing out are you actually just logged in and once it says tickets exhausted you just give up?

I can't see how it's possible for any club support Gold members to miss out for the Pies game.
Club support only gives you priority for the GF not the Prelim

Well being there are 50,000 plus AFL members who could buy tickets but only 15-18,000 tickets available. It is quite easy to see how people missed out even as a club support member.

There shouldn't be any more than 12000 Gold members of the 2 most popularly supported clubs based on historical figures that the AFL published.
I think the AFL don't want to publish the figures any more because they know they will be found out when 12000 members can't get in.

It shouldn’t be a decision, they should and need to be completely transparent

Any idea when they release non competing club tickets

Grand Final? if I remember it's usually 10am Sunday for Gold Compete then maybe 12 or 1pm for non compete.

If Collingwood V Carlton play each other, will competing gold members miss out?

I know nobody truly knows the answer as the AFL won't release any figures.

I don't think so. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see the AFL reduce the members section further to sell to corporate should that matchup eventuate.

Well it says 13-23k for AFL "Members" (Someone can correct me)

I assumed if it was a low demand GF (LOL), then 13K would most likely be offered. If Carlton Vs Collingwood, I thought closer to 23k would be possible to cater for the higher numbers of Gold.

My head says the AFL would make Gold members miss out

If that's the case then I'd expect gold members of both competing clubs that missed out on GF tickets to ditch AFL membership and take up a club membership with GF guarantee.

Not disagreeing with you but what makes you so adamant competing gold members will miss out if Pies V Blues?
I am uncertain. I am not completely ruling it out, but I would like to think that all competing Gold will get tickets if they want.

I would love to see a Carl vs Coll for this very situation.

Based on a 13,000 AFL members ticketing allocation and that famous list of gold members by club allocation from circa 2013 (with the remaining 10,000 AFL reserve tickets to go to corporate red wine sniffing over weight fat cats who are attending their first or second game in the post covid era) I estimate the following:

1) Collingwood V Brisbane - 8,000 for competing gold. 5,000 for non competing gold.

2) Collingwood V Carlton - 12,000 for competing gold. 1,000 for non competing gold.

3) Brisbane V GWS - 500 for competing gold. 12,500 for non competing gold

4) Carlton V GWS - 4,500 for competing gold. 8,500 for non competing gold.
