The AFL is killing content creators, manually going through the backlogs of everyone who creates content on YouTube using AFL footage, and demonetizing them via copyright claim.

Why does the AFL feel the need to respond in this way!

The NBA doesn't do this. The MLB doesn't do this. The NFL doesn't do this.

Pretty ordinary behaviour. The reason why a lot of younger people like myself follow sport is due to following content creators. No doubt soccer has grown a lot due to YouTubers who play fifa or who have their own fan channels. They should be embracing those who are looking to grow the game and attract new audiences who don’t normally attend games on a weekend.

There are a number of bands that have blown up online, specifically because they don't block users using their stuff in things like reaction channels.

They get free publicity and introduced to people who may have never heard of them otherwise.

If you want to raise awareness and spread your content, content creators using your stuff is fantastic.

If your more interested in maximising the money you make from your existing user base, that's when you block.
