Zurhaar is KMart Stringer.

I like our overall list balance in terms of numbers per position, maybe another key forward instead of medium. Not upset if Stringer leaves to a Melbourne type tbh, but I wouldn't get Zurhaar
That's fair. Although I fully expect CZ stats to go up a few levels once he gets into a good side.

For example if he signed for Collingwood he's going to cause us massive headaches on Anzac day.

I agree on the balance call, adding Stengle in Jakes spot and playing 3 smalls, 2 talls and 1 medium. Stengle, Guelfi, Gresham, Caddy, Wright, Langford as an example.

Probably ~1.5mill extra

Im not sure how the last question, is a question. Of course we are
Yeah obvious answer to my last question, I guess it was more about would we be willing to be super aggressive on calling time on players like Heppell, Kelly and Stringer?

I think all 3 will be here in 2025 and I'm not sure they should be.

I wonder if having another small in the forwardline (Stengle?) instead of Stringer would allow for playing a second ruckman alongside Wright? Just seems a better balance up forward. Also Draper doesn't seem to be able to ruck 100%, but having him crash into people while splitting his time between ruck and FF could be beneficial. Also means Wright can play 100% forward unless one of the rucks go down.

Agree about calling time on Heppell and Kelly, although maybe giving Kelly 1 year and keeping him around as backup wouldn't be too bad as well.

Yeah it's a good discussion on balance, if list spots allow I'd keep Kelly or Hep as squad players, I am very interested in changing as many players as possible and the FA market is the easiest way to do it, especially if we have the money.

Dodoro deserves some plaudits in how he's managed the salary cap, really allows us to be aggressive in the FA market multiple years in a row.

So, just... the 4 biggest names in free agency. All coming to us haha?
I Guess Demarcus Cousins GIF by NBA

Throw in Jarrod Berry and make it 5!

Yeah I worry about CZ in the same way. Don't want him, don't want someone else to have him.

All 3 have played every game this year and the side sits 3rd

Of course they deserve to get another year

I disagree, can't see how they make us better in 2025. If we finish 3rd after the H&A and finals I'll reconsider, but no one would re-sign them if they could have Perryman or Cumming in their place.

Stringer can stay as he's a POD to what we have on the list.

I guess you have to ask the question if keeping them or replacing them would improve the team more? I'd say Heppell and Kelly could be upgraded, and if that's the case do you keep them around taking up a list spot?

Stringer is the more difficult one because he can really be a match winner. But he's becoming more inconsistant, and we do have issues in the forwardline. Personally I can't see Langford, Jones, Caddy and Stringer all in playing together. And then there's Draper, who Scott has been playing whenever he's fit, but he couldn't be in there with those 4 and Wright as well.

Do you think age is getting to Stringer? He doesn't seem to be as powerful compared to the rest as he has been in the past.

He'll be 31 next year so maybe that's affecting him. He doesn't seem like the sort of player that keeps himself in the peak of fitness, so that could impact his durability.

He just seems a bit off to me this year, which is strange in a contract year. He's definately had good moments, but he's also not looked like he's going to tear the game apart, and he's missing easy goals.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a contract though. If they were ruthless they'd only offer him one year with option for another based on performance, but he'll probably get 2 or more years.

Perpetual 1 year contracts for Jake from here on in.
Qurstion marks on Heppell and Kelly. There's half a season to go.

Is Isaac Cumming really that good? Ditto Harry Perryman

I dunno if its the we have to many good kids that drive there price up but I cant imagine they are better than say Jacob Hopper who went for what price again..

Throw the kitchen sink.

I for one am shocked that the bloke who the AFL went out of their way to let some bloke’s wife manage him is about to make a really short sighted decision for what is probably minimum short term benefit, if any.

What an organisation, what a country.

If I was a pay day loan company I would be camping outside his house.

They’re solid B graders I’d say. Would be an upgrade in the middle of our best side.

Perryman can play almost anywhere, good natural footballer. Cumming would slot straight in to half back and is a good kick with good size and speed.

Unlike Hopper both are out of contract and free agents.

They’re probably better than Hopper for what we need.

Gaining Stengle would transform our forward line by a lot. The work that Gresh is doing in regards to F50 ground ball gets and stoppage clearances/i50's could be halved with Stengle, which would free up the both of them to attack the scoreboard as a unit. This is in addition to having an extra elite player in the mid-20's bracket that the side needs.

Yep your comparing 2 different things though

One cost a whole lot more, that needs to be considered

Perryman is very solid. Can play in a few different spots. He’d be an amazing upgrade on Kelly

Cumming was a border line A grade half back but has been hit very hard by injuries. It would be a risk picking him up

Huh?
Do you know a fact that no one else does?
Is he leaving?
