It will be intresting to see this weekends game between Kenmore and Alex Hills. with so many new faces in the senior squad for kenmore they should look like a new outfit will be interesting to see how they go. As for Alex losing faulkner will be a bit of a blow and it will be interesting to see who they have to fill his spot.

C Stirling has gone to uni so I imagine he'll be the one that is looking over his shoulder. In saying that he was probably the best CHB in the competition last year so not too sure what Kenmore will actually have to throw at him.

My mates at Kenmore told me that other than Stirling, the only players to leave for rival clubs were their captain Trent Fuller - Sandgate and the two Plummers to GC 17. Apparently, Tim is very close to getting listed for next year. The rest have just tossed it in for various reasons. So not sure what garbage Lion Man is going on with. :footy:
I thought PJ Stowasser was your captain? Which one was Fuller?

Fuller took over from Stowasser as captain at the start of last year. He was a pretty popular choice to replace him, but sought greener pastures elsewhere I guess. Each to their own.

He mainly played forward flank and on the ball. Took one of the best marks I've ever seen one year.

i was talking to one of the others the other night at training and apparently they're just going to play in the 3rds. got a few mates here already apparently so they all just want to play together in div 2 for a bit of fun. and this guy i was talking to has brought down a former zillmere state league player. should make the uni 3rds a reasonable side this year.

Should be a good hit out against Kedron tomorrow. They'll definately be a welcome addition as we climb up the ladder this season.

Carn the Red Lions!

any names?

Well last nights Game for Kenmore and Alex proved that kenmore were not as far from the pace as most thought. Kenmore still lost by 80 points but it was not the 200 point trouncing that was predicted by hartlett.

Alex hills looked as if they were well drilled and had some good disposal and ball use.
Kenmore looked as if they needed a fair bit more fine tuning to push for a spot in the finals this year.

Does anyone know the results of the other practice matches around the place?

You're a ****ing idiot mate. We were up by about 85 points at the end of the 3rd quarter and we decided to mix the team up. Didn't you notice that everyone was out of position and we started taking the piss out of the game? You guys were rubbish and we will beat you by a whole lot more than that when we play you in round 2.

By the way, what was with that guy with the sleeves playing out of the square? He looked like he was about 50 years old and 50m off the pace. Your team had a lot of terrible players, but he was by far the worst.

L.O.S.E.R.! Our club sent a committee member over to watch last year's 2nd vs 3rd teams. The reports are that Alex Hills have lost their entire mid-field, including their first and second ruckman and lost their gun forwards. They were apparently a shell of last year's team. Will not play finals by all accounts. You have clearly been talking garbage since you got on here.

Sure Kenmore were very, very ordinary, but we already knew that. I can't see how you can think that winning by 90 points over them proves anything especially when our scout was told they had 3 or 4 of their guns out. Could have made the difference....

Calamvale beat Logan by 44oints (77 to 33) It was a scrappy game in good conditions. The bloke I played on told me they had 3 away at a funeral, and a couple more out, but not may good ones.
Griffith/Moorooka ressies looked like a lot of blokes who havent played much footy together but easily beat Ipswich who had to rely on some really old guys to feild a sixteen a side game. I think they finished with 14 when some doubled up in the seniors, who beat GM buy about 20 points in a low scorer in windy and sometimes wet conditions. All the talk of ipswich loosing a lot of players may be true but most of the senior team is still intact. They will neeed to grow some more players for their ressies real quick. Calamvale will play UQ at Moorooka next Saturday at 11am and 1pm.

UQ Div 1 62 d Coorparoo 25

I'm sure there were players missing for both teams so probably can't read too much into it.

Didn't know the score in the ressies but it seemed to be pretty even to me.

What club are you from? We have lost a couple of good players, but we have been able to recruit better quality onballers. Did your committee member mention that?
How could 3 or 4 players turn around a 90 point deficit? Were the players they had missing Dean Cox, Gary Ablett Jnr, Brendan Fevola and Brian Lake?
We ARE the team to beat this year. There is no doubt about that.

For uni to hold Coorparoo to only 25 points is pretty good. Shows that either uni has recruited well or coorparoo has fallen to pieces. Either way, we will beat uni by 50 points at the very least and it looks like we'll give coorparoo a 100 point touch up.

Will be a great way for us to start our season knocking off Uni with ease. That will make every other team afraid of us, especially coorparoo.

That is very true, plus we have a lot of guys who have never played before most are rugby boys. We also have a few kiwis, a canadian and an irish, when they learn a bit more about the game we may start to get a bit better. Not bad for our first hit out and better than I thought we would go.

The seniors will start to gel the more they play. There are a few guys from Griffith, few from Moorooka and a lot of new guys. Will be an interesting season and may cause some headaches for some teams later in the season.

Alex Hills FC & certainly I have no idea who Hartlett is & I'm pretty sure he is no member of our footy club because if he was he should remember in 2007 & 2008 we played practise matches against Yeronga & Wynnum loosing by over 100pts. One thing you learn in the hard times is respect for your opponent & that doesn't change when you start to show improvement which Alex Hills did in 2009 if there is one thing i have learned over many years of football is show respect to all football clubs & there players

Yeronga beat Caboolture by 44 points.

Am fairly sure the Seniors and Reserves for Caboolture will be taking on Recliffe next Saturday.

Mate your right about the respect for other clubs. We turned up in our club shirts, long black pants and black shoes , and we looked professional and tight . Mostly we were. But I was not real proud of the mess we left for the blokes at Moorooka to clean up. Moorooka allowed us to play prior to their games, they didnt have to and we leave shit everywhere. I got sick of picking up cans and bottles that WE just left. Next week we play Uni at Moorooka and I hope there is a marked improvement. And guys lets buy the piss from them not bring our own as some did.
I dont want to be a part of a club that thinks being good a footy is all that counts.

cheers to that Graham. I have been on both ends of the footy spectrum and you play the game for the enjoyment of playing for with your mates. I have mates who play in most teams throughout the Association and being an arrogant ass isn't how i stay mates with them. A little respect goes a long way for making your club look better to new players and the rest of the league.

agree with Graham and oldschoolfooty. sorry for getting worked up before, just annoys me when tossers shoot their mouths off like Hartlett. looks like the contenders this year will be Caloundra, Wynnum and UQ with Coorparoo, Yeronga and Alex Hills fighting for fourth spot.

Graham, oldschool, homer and goalkicker, how do you rate your teams compared to last year? from what i hear caloundra are big improvers with the rest falling off the pace fairly dramatically....
