To be fair at that stage she was an easy top 3/top 2 selection… never underestimate a draft interview I suppose is the moral of the story… also a national draft that has some less national elements for some individuals.And we didn't even need to trade out Ponter to get her

That second selection inside 25/30 would’ve been handy given who’s slipping down the board
She was seen as a top 5 selection very recently! I think it's just a case of clubs having certain players in mind and different needs, plus presumably a sense that she is a flight risk.
Even if she does end up requesting a trade to Port in a few years, we can hopefully get something good coming back.
Hopefully we have offered her the Phillips Deal.

At least we're half a chance of getting her out of West Coast. I can't see them being any good any time soon, and unfortunately for them the draft has gone national right as a bunch of top quality WA has come through. They'd be pretty furious watching O'Hehir and Fish shoot off to the eastern seaboard.
I think it may not be as explosive as it could’ve been with Young after 2 ACL’s but still think she’ll be an amazing Forward in that Katie Brennan mould… still have faith but you’re right you don’t won’t want her to become another Izzy Huntington
Yes, I imagine she's experiencing a massive relief, as well as a kind of letdown after she would have hyped herself up for the prospect of leaving.

When we’ve lamented the lack of talent on the list you can’t complain with them going for the pure talent option but still stings as Riggs you could tell even from her long interview she just did on the AFL media coverage would put everything on the line for the team. West Coast are pretty well set for talls too interesting what happens their, hopefully isn’t left to rot on the sidelines.
Port selecting Jasmine Evans too pretty much compliments Molly Brooksby who she shares lots of similarities with.

I had heard quite emphatically that Poppy Scholz definitely didn’t want to play under her big sisters shadow at port and that may have extended to crows too so not surprised she got picked up interstate. She almost gave away footy completely due to the comparisons with her sister.
