Just saw Port picked Chloe Gaunt and like I said Brisbane didn’t match, looks a good player but will be behind Houghton, Teakle, Levicki and the returning Tahau and Young… interesting to see how many tall forward options they have on the list where as the Crows have only Gould and maybe Tarlinton, totally different list ideologies and builds.

I guess one way of looking at it is she probably thought she would be leaving SA to a club with an early pick, but is now staying in SA. For her it's not Port but her second best option to stay here.
She'll be a Port next year 100% it's a waste of a pick.

The twist of the night was when Adelaide with Pick 13 took local product India Rasheed (Sturt) — a creative, athletic and classy forward.

Rasheed is the daughter of prominent former tennis player, coach and now commentator Roger Rasheed, who has previously served as a Port Adelaide director.

“Apparently I’m a runner next year!” Roger Rasheed said with a laugh while wearing a Crows scarf.

“Absolutely, they just want to play the sport they love, no matter what colours they love.

“I’m super proud of her.”

Poppy but still knows Matilda really well, close Family friends, Poppy won't stay at Carlton long

I think that's an easy sentiment to make when you're steeped in a culture, but once you move out of home, meet new teammates, etc you can very quickly switch stripes.

I'll back us in to keep Rasheed.

So at the end of it all they’ve addressed a bit of that talent deficiency that became obvious post all Port concessions and filled a need after having basically no dangerous small forward goalkicking options.

Of course the Rasheed question will be there but you address that when that rear’s its head I suppose. Certainly are reasons why both players slid so much, hopefully mostly just location reasons, McKee did also do an ACL as a 17 year old so there’s naturally that risk.

Both should be used to change the look up forward as they provide something totally different to anything on the list but Clarke has a natural hesitancy to play teenagers so they might not even get the playing time they should.

With the club totally not addressing the tall forward/marking forward need or midfield speed it will need to come up with some sort of different look before August 2025. Will need to convert a player to play as a more permanent marking forward option to help Gould or that line will continue to malfunction whether that’s Hatchard, Boileau, Irish recruit Cronin or ~shudders~ Grace Kelly.

Hopefully Jones can play this role. (And do it better than she did pre-injury this year)

Still will need another bigger body up there plus while Jones loves to trail behind an opponent in hope of jumping on their head to take a big mark it rarely occurs and you can’t really rely on that methodology, plus the type of skill she possesses I still think she’d be much better served being more a ground level ‘first to the ball’ player especially post-Achilles.

Plus, let's see how Port go next year without the softest draw in the thing.
8 loses is more likely.

As good as Rasheed is and unbelievable dropped to us ,I certainly would have taken Riggs as great potential and would strengthen our greatest weakness of marking ability and contest especially forward.
Like most believing Rasheed would be a great risk in near future to go to other mob.

She's perfect from the perspective of raw talent, but we've had an ongoing issue where we recruit talented midfielders and then can't find a spot for them in there. Hopefully we have a plan in place for Rasheed because she's too good to get the Nikki Gore treatment.
The next McLeod?🥳😀
