Gotta eat my words here.
Having viewed a fair amount of woman's footy at ammos level I didn't think the standard would be high enough to warrant this AFLW league, preference being given to a second string men's league.
I'm very impressed, and besides the basic disposal skill level, this shits on what I had imagined to quality to be.
The skills will come now the door has been opened. So impressed by the way our girls kept formation and worked for each other for an entire game. Far better a spectacle the watching my Div4 club team, which I never thought I'd say this early on.

Kudos.

Jenny, you was spot on.

While we gave some great players I our best, I don't think we have as much talent overall as most other clubs. It has been the effort and desire that's working for us, absolutely committed.

I agree. The girls seem to get much more reward for effort than in the men's competition, presumably because the skills aren't quite as polished so there are more opportunities to take advantage of a spilled mark or missed kick.

Pace and effort will be key in this comp and we seem to have plenty of both :thumbsu:

Reckon our depth is pretty good, even spread of contributors coupled with some clear talent (The Noff, Phillips, Perkins, Randall, Gibson). It's a great mix and mix that with an amazing culture it's exciting times ahead.

Assume it's just 12 month contracts at this stage for this comp, hopefully we can keep this group together for a while.
